Although Samsung was also in action most of the devices from Samsung were from the mid-range category. Samsung users were eagerly waiting for a 5G smartphone under the 25K price range. Finally, their wait is over, the smartphone company has brought the latest 5G device called the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G in India during a virtual launch event. The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G features a strong Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset along with a large battery and multiple other features. Samsung Galaxy M42 5G Price in India

There are two variants of the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G. One of the variants comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and another comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. The 6GB RAM variant is priced at Rs.21,999 and the 8GB RAM variant is priced at Rs.23,999.   However, there is an introductory price for the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G and you can buy this smartphone at Rs. 19999 for the 6GB RAM variant at Rs.21.999 on the official website of Samsung. Samsung has launched the Galaxy M42 5G in two colour options including Prism Dot Black and Prism Dot Grey. The rear panel is made of plastic and features a prism dot design along with a glossy finish. Also, there is a square-shaped camera module, which is not bulging outside to create an imbalance in the overall weight of the smartphone. ‘

The front side features a U-shaped notch at the top along with a minimum noticeable chin at the bottom. While there are almost negligible bezels around the edges. The Samsung Galaxy M42 5G carries an under-display fingerprint sensor and on the right edge, there is the power button and the volume rocker. The bottom side features a Type-C charging port. Overall, the design appears quite appealing from the rear and looks quite thin, although there is a large battery inside.

If there is anything that goes against the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G, then it is the display of this smartphone. Although the display size is quite good and there is a Super AMOLED panel, the HD+ resolution at the given price along with 60Hz refresh rate are unacceptable at the given price point. There should have been an FHD+ resolution along with a 120Hz or 90Hz refresh rate.

Here the performance section is solid and the gaming experience is going to be awesome. Since there is no Exynos chipset here, don’t expect any heating and lagging issues here. The best thing that Samsung has done here is that they have gone with the Qualcomm chipset here instead of Exynos. Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy M42 5G comes powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G, where the suffix G indicates that it’s particularly meant for gaming at super-fast 5G connectivity.

Also, you are getting Knox Security along with Samsung Pay for contactless payments and the Samsung Galaxy runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 skin on top.

Since Samsung is offering 5G here, they have gone with a 48Mp quad-camera setup instead of using a 64MP camera setup on the rear. For bringing all the specs under one roof at the given price tag, Samsung has gone with a 48MP Quad-rear camera setup, featuring a 48MP primary camera, followed by an 8Mp ultra-wide camera, a 5MP Macro sensor and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, you’ve got a 20MP selfie camera for clear shots.

Coming to the second drawback of Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is the minimum fast charging capability. Although there is a 5000 mah battery, which is a plus point in this smartphone, it will take you hours to refill it with just 15W fast charging. Smartphones nowadays under the given price range come with 50W or more fast-charging capacity. Therefore, Samsung must have included a higher capacity fast charging compatibility in this smartphone.

If you are a Samsung brand lover and you are looking for 5G and performance only in terms of chipset and storage, then you may go with the Samsung Galaxy M42 5G. However, if you don’t want to compromise on the display resolution, refresh rate along with fast-charging capacity, then you may go with some other device.
