Before getting into the feature, there are two things that you do need to know. Firstly, the Google Find My Device will work only if your device’s location services are turned on. Step 4: Tapping on the Play Sound option makes your device ring out for five minutes, even if it’s on silent mode. This allows you to locate your device via the Google Find My Device feature if it is near.

The Secure Device option locks out your device from access to whoever has it now and automatically signs out of your Google account or accounts.

The last option is to completely wipe out your device by erasing the data on it. However, this is the last resort as after selecting this option, although your data will not fall into the wrong hands, you will never be able to find your device again.
