Good news for everyone! Soon, you won’t have to stand in long lines just to fix a small mistake on your Aadhaar card. Starting in November 2025, the government is making it possible to complete your Aadhaar Update From Home, including changing your name and other important details online. This is a big move to make the process easier and more accessible for everyone.
Aadhaar Update From Home : What You Can Do?

Currently, you can only change a few things online, like your address. But from November 2025, UIDAI is expanding this service. This new system is especially helpful for people in rural areas or those who find it difficult to travel to an Aadhaar Seva Kendra.
Here are the key details you will be able to update from home:
- Name Corrections: Easily fix spelling mistakes or make small changes to your name.
- Date of Birth: Correct your date of birth with fewer restrictions.
- Family Details: You can now update your father’s or spouse’s name online.
- Address: Continue to update your address using valid documents.
However, please remember that major updates like your photo, fingerprints, or iris scan will still require a visit to an Aadhaar center for security reasons.

How The New Online Process Works
The new system for your Aadhaar Update From Home is designed to be simple and user-friendly. You will need to visit the official myAadhaar website and log in using your Aadhaar number and the OTP that is sent to your registered mobile number.
Once you are logged in, you just choose the detail you want to change, upload a clear copy of your supporting document (like a passport or PAN card), and submit your request. UIDAI aims to process most of these online requests within 3 to 5 working days.
