Clubhouse, an invite-only social audio application, is now available to download for Android users in India and across the globe. The app’s Android prototype began testing in the United States a few weeks ago. The aim of this testing was to bolster the app’s future overall growth. Since its official launch in March 2020, Clubhouse has been limited to Apple’s iOS. After having being mentioned by Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, and Mark Zuckerberg, co-founder of Facebook, the social audio app received attention in the digital world.
The Clubhouse Android app is available to download from the Google Play store. The app seems to be compatible with Android 8.0 and above smartphones. Clubhouse is still focused on the waitlist and invite scheme, despite the fact that an Android version is now available around the globe. This implies that in order to sign up, users would need an invite from another user.
Issues With Clubhouse Verification Process
Some people, on the other hand, are arguing that the verification process isn’t functioning properly.
Several users are having sign-up problems, according to the Play Store reports, because they are not receiving the authentication code. And when people try to re-enter the phone, the application states the number is “incorrect” or isn’t “supported.”
People have rated Clubhouse a one-star rating on Google Play Store because of sign-up problems. Over 1 lakh Android device users have downloaded the application.
It’s also worth noting that this is Clubhouse’s public beta app. The platform is yet to announce the stable version of the Android app.
What Made It Popular?
Since Elon Musk and some celebrities conducted audio discussions on the platform earlier this year. This made Clubhouse gain a significant amount of users. According to mobile app analytics company Sensor Tower, the app hit the peak of 9.6 million downloads this February. After that the app’s downloads dropped 72 percent to 2.7 million in March. In April, the number fell to 900,000 people. You may either enter the waiting list on the application or ask a current user for an invitation. As a result, several people have gained interest in audio-based social applications. And also many social media sites have attempted to create their own Clubhouse.
