OnePlus 16 Features a Massive 9,000mAh Battery
One of the biggest highlights of the OnePlus 16 is its 9,000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the 7,300mAh battery in the OnePlus 15. The increased capacity could help users spend more time gaming, streaming videos and browsing without frequently reaching for a charger.
OnePlus has also confirmed support for 50W wireless charging. Reports have suggested that the phone could support 100W wired charging, although this specification has not been officially confirmed.
Battery capacity alone does not determine overall endurance, so real-world performance will depend on factors such as display refresh rate, gaming sessions and background activity. Nevertheless, the larger battery gives the OnePlus 16 a notable advantage on paper for users who prioritise endurance.
OnePlus 16 Gets a 185Hz Gaming Display
The OnePlus 16 has introduced a BOE-supplied display with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz across the system. In supported games, the refresh rate can reach 185Hz, potentially delivering smoother animations and more responsive gameplay.
The company has also equipped the phone with three in-house chips designed to improve display performance, touch response and connectivity.

OnePlus has highlighted games such as Arena Breakout and Naruto Mobile for native support of frame rates up to 185fps. However, the highest frame rate will depend on individual game support and optimisation.
These upgrades could make the OnePlus 16 an appealing option for mobile gamers who want smoother visuals and faster touch response.
Camera and Software Details
For photography, the OnePlus 16 features a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor. It is accompanied by a 50MP ultrawide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom.
The camera setup gives users options for high-resolution photography, wider landscape shots and zoomed-in images. Actual image quality will depend on sensor performance, image processing and lighting conditions.
On the software front, the phone runs ColorOS 17 based on Android 17 in China. Other reported features include a dedicated AI button, triple-frequency GPS and four-frequency BeiDou support.
