Xiaomi 12 Series Will Launch Today: Everything We Know So Far

The Xiaomi 12 series will make its global premiere today. In December last year, the flagship series has debuted in China. The 12 series smartphones include the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X models. Xiaomi’s flagship range includes three devices with triple rear camera configurations and 5G connectivity. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC powers the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, while the Snapdragon 870 SoC powers the Xiaomi 12X. All three smartphone has up to 12GB of RAM. 

Today, on March 15, at 8 p.m. GMT, Xiaomi will unveil its 12 series internationally (1:30 am IST on March 16). The debut of Xiaomi’s flagship smartphones will stream live on the company’s official website, YouTube channel, Facebook page, and Twitter account.

Price of the Smartphones (Expected)

As previously stated, the Xiaomi 12 series includes the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12X. In December last year, these smartphones were released in China. The basic 8GB RAM + 128GB storage edition of the Xiaomi 12 costs CNY 3,699 (approximately Rs. 44,300). The 8GB RAM + 128GB storage edition of the Xiaomi 12 Pro begins at CNY 4,699 (approximately Rs. 56,300). The Xiaomi 12X, on the other hand, starts at CNY 3,199 (approximately Rs. 38,350) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage model. It is still not clear whether the worldwide Xiaomi 12 series will have the same specs as the Chinese variants.

Specifications of the 12 series smartphones (Expected)

All three devices of the 12 series run MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12. The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X have a 6.28-inch full-HD+ AMOLED screen, while the Xiaomi 12 Pro has a 6.73-inch WQHD+ E5 AMOLED screen. Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection is included on all three. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC is used in the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro, while the Snapdragon 870 SoC is used in the Xiaomi 12X. All three come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage inside.

A 50-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor are there in the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12X’s triple back camera configuration. The Xiaomi 12 Pro includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel portrait sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor. A 32-megapixel selfie camera is also there on all three devices.
