YouTube is introducing new design elements and product features, such as the ability to zoom in and out of videos, to improve user experience on the platform. Users of the Google-owned streaming network will be able to zoom in and out of videos while using iOS or Android smartphones.

YouTube Zoom-In And Out Feature Incoming: Here’s What To Expect
“We are launching a new look and numerous features today that provide a more modern and immersive viewing experience while also improving how consumers watch videos.” “However, don’t panic; the same YouTube you know and love remains at our heart,” the company wrote in a blog post. The ambient mode offers a subtle effect by using dynamic colour.
It was inspired by the light that screens cast out in a darkened environment. The goal was to duplicate the effect so that viewers were drawn immediately into the material, and the video now has a larger focus on our watch page.

This functionality will be available in a dark theme on the web and mobile. YouTube URLs in video descriptions will change to buttons. Everyday actions such as like, share, and download will be styled to reduce distractions.
The new shape and high contrast of the subscribe button make it stand out. The subscribe button is no longer red, it’s easier to spot and much more accessible to everyone on both watch and channel pages.
