    Poco C3 was officially launched yesterday in India via a virtual event. The launch of the affordable smartphone made us want to compare it to another great budget beast, the Redmi 9 Prime. Here is a detailed comparison of the two.

    Both the Poco C3 and Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime are great value for money devices. However, we have to keep in mind that the Redmi 9 Prime comes with a slightly costlier price tag than the Poco C3. This price tag brings a variety of better specifications than the Poco C3.

    The Poco C3 features a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels. Moreover, the aspect ratio of the LCD display is that of 20:9. The smartphone runs on Android 10 OS with the MIUI 12 for Poco on top.

    On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 prime features a a 6.53-inch display as well. However, the display on this device is a full-HD+ IPS one with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels. Moreover, the display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 as well and comes with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The smartphone runs on Android 10 as well with the MIUI 11 on top.

    On the processor front, the Poco C3 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. Additionally, the octa-core chipset is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage.

    On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime is powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. This octa-core processor is paired with 4GB DDR4x RAM and up to 128GB storage. One thing to note here is that the internal storage on both the devices is expandable up to 512GB via a microSD card.

    The Poco C3 features a triple rear camera setup. This setup includes a 13-megapixel main snapper with f/2.2 aperture, a 2-megapixel macro sensor with f/2.4 lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor with f/2.4 lens. On the front, the smartphone comes with a 5-megapixel selfie shooter with an aperture of f/2.2.

    On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime features a quad rear camera setup. The setup includes a 13-megapixel primary shooter, an 8-megapixel secondary shooter with an ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, the smartphone features an 8-megapixel camera sensor for selfies and video calls.

    When it comes to the battery backup of the two devices, the Poco C3 packs a large 5000mAh battery along with 10W charging support. On the other hand, the Redmi 9 Prime packs a slightly larger 5020mAh battery along with a better 18W fast charging support.

    Prices And Availability

    The Poco C3 price in India starts from Rs. 7,499 for the 3GB/32GB variant. Furthermore, the price of the 4GB/64GB variant is Rs. 8,999 in the country. The smartphone is available in three color options namely Arctic Blue, Lime Green and Matte Black.

    On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 9 Prime price in India starts from Rs. 9,999. This is the price for the 4GB/64GB variant whereas, the 4GB/128GB variant comes with a price tag of Rs. 11,999. The smartphone is available in four color options namely Space Blue, Mint Green, Sunrise Flare and Matte Black.

    The Redmi 9 Prime is the clear winner in this comparison. From an incredible budget processor to a great quad rear camera setup, it seems that there are hardly any devices that can beat it at the price range.
