iPhone 15 Release Date
Considering the fact that Apple tends to launch its new iPhones in September each year, the iPhone 15 could be released in September 2023. Furthermore, there’s a good chance that the new iPhones could be unveiled in the first half of September next year. Of course, we’ll have to wait for Apple to confirm a specific date. Nonetheless, sources indicate that the iPhone 15 release date could be September 12, 2023.
iPhone 15 Price
Surprisingly, despite the new features added to the iPhone 14 Pro lineup, the prices remained identical to the iPhone 13 lineup. Although there’s a good chance that the prices could be hiked for the next iteration, it will depend on the condition of available materials and the supply chain. Regardless, we don’t expect Apple to hike the iPhone 15 pricing anytime soon. Here’s what the iPhone 15 price could be in 2023:
- iPhone 15 – $799 (INR 65,900)
- iPhone 15 Plus – $899 (INR 74,149)
- iPhone 15 Pro – $999 (INR 82,397)
- iPhone 15 Pro Max – $1,099 (INR 90,644)
Of course, these are based on the current value of the Indian Rupee against the US Dollar. Moreover, they’re not accounting for the import taxes and duties levied on electronic goods that are brought into the country. This pricing is bound to change as we approach the month of September next year.
Additionally, there are rumours of an iPhone 15 Ultra hanging in the air as well. According to reputable sources, such as notable Apple leaker Mark Gurman, the iPhone 15 Pro Max could be swapped for another premium smartphone, the iPhone 15 Ultra. The Ultra models will utilise Apple’s latest smartphone technologies and could have their body frames made of titanium. This is the same material Apple has used for its latest Apple Watch Ultra. If you take into account the price gap between the Apple Watch 8 series and the Apple Watch Ultra, the iPhone 15 Ultra could cost somewhere between $1500 to $2000 (INR 1,23,719 – INR 1,64,958).

Quite a few Apple fans were left disappointed when they noticed that the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus used the same design as seen on iPhone 13. However, the iPhone 14 Pro models received a welcome design change, incorporating the new Dynamic Island and the pill-shaped notch. There’s a high chance that the standard iPhone 15 models will also receive this design change, especially considering that the probable iPhone 15 Ultra could utilise a significant new design.

According to the leaks, the Apple iPhone 15 Ultra will utilise a dual front camera system. Although competitors such as Google have attempted to add the dual front camera system, this feature is rarely seen in today’s smartphones. Moreover, the iPhone 15 Ultra will also utilise a USB-C port.
If these leaks are anything to go by, the entire iPhone 15 lineup could be equipped with a USB-C Port. This comes with the EU mandate that all future smartphones must shift to USB-C by 2024. Apple might also include a fingerprint scanner under the display. This is a feature that can be found on multiple Android smartphones in lieu of a competent facial recognition system. Moreover, with the pandemic mandating the use of masks, Face ID will need a companion unlock feature to ensure extra security.
Regardless, Apple isn’t known for making radical design changes. So, the primary square design with the current iPhones should remain. We can expect a few minor changes, though. This includes the likelihood of an under-display fingerprint scanner and a USB-C port.

iPhone 15 Specifications
There’s not much of an update surrounding the specifications for the upcoming iPhone 15. However, rumours suggest that Apple could be introducing the A17 Bionic chip in the more premium smartphones in the lineup. The standard iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus could receive the A16 chip that’s found in the iPhone 14 Pro models. Moreover, moving to the A17 chip indicates Apple’s move into the 3nm architecture. Apple has already introduced the 4nm A16 processor chip in the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max. With the A17, there could be a 10 to 15 per cent overall performance boost on the new iPhones.
This performance boost would be coupled with a reduction in power consumption by 30 per cent as well. However, this will only happen if the battery sizes of the new iPhones aren’t increased significantly. The best-case scenario would be for the battery sizes to remain the same as the current battery life on the latest iPhones are relatively decent.
The iPhone 14 cameras, while decent in their own regard, face some stiff competition from Android flagships. Rumours suggest that the iPhone 15 could finally see an upgrade on the telephoto lens to put it on par or better the cameras on Android flagship smartphones. Moreover, the iPhone 15 Pro Max may also receive a periscope zoom update. However, we don’t expect any major upgrades in the camera systems for the baseline iPhone 15 models. If there’s a major upgrade, expect to see it on the premium Pro models.
Additionally, the rumoured iPhone 15 Ultra is expected to have a double front-facing camera system. Nonetheless, there’s very little detail on what the extra camera could be used for or what the specifications of the camera lenses could be.
