Apple iPhone 12 Manufacturing Starts In India

India is a big hub for manufacturing the components of a smartphone. Recently, Apple is starting the Assembly of the iPhone 12 model in India. However, the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max will be imported from China.

Apple will partner with some third-party manufacturers like Foxconn and Wistron to produce some iPhones. Apple is making iPhones in India since 2017. The electronics and information technology Minister of India wrote a tweet of gratitude and inspiration.

Apple in India

Apple will produce the base model of iPhone 12 in India. The company is producing the iPhone SE, iPhone XR, and iPhone 11 in India with its partners. The company is producing the products at Tamilnadu facility.

According to Apple, this move will strengthen their position in the Indian smartphone market. According to the electronics and information technology Minister of India, this will increase jobs in the country.

iPhone 12 manufacturing in India

Apple will create the components in India and will form the base of the iPhone 12. However, this will not mean that the price of the device will be lower and the production of the iPhone 12 will start in April- May.

In the previous year, some employees at the Wistron facility were complaining about over-delayed payments for the month of October and November. On the basis of Apple’s supplier code of conduct, the company has stopped providing any new business to Wistron.

Apple is currently working with the Foxconn plant to manufacture the iPhones in India. Now, iPhone 11 and iPhone XR have become the largest selling models of Apple in India.

The production of the iPhone 12 will only cater to the demand of the locals. It will also improve the image of the company in the Indian market. Also, Apple will export the made-in-India iPhones to other countries as well.
