Pokemon games have shaped the childhood days of most of the gamers out there. From the classic Pokemon Red, Yellow and Blue game on the GameBoy to Pokemon Emerald, Fire Red for the GameBoy Advance, these games are quite literally evergreen. Moreover, these games are the reason why the franchise has such a massive undying community through all these years. Back in 2016, with the announcement of Pokemon Go, love for the franchise was renewed through elements of nostalgia.

However, although Pokemon Go is the best pokemon game you can play on Android, there are others too. There are quite a few games from the franchise that you can enjoy. Here is a list of the best Pokemon games that you can enjoy on your Android and iOS.

#1 Pokemon Go

Pokémon Go took the world by storm when it first came out way back in 2016. It goes without saying that this AR game for your Android and iOS is the best Pokemon game out there. Almost everyone in the world knows about this game and how it works. It basically functions via 3D mapping your surroundings and creating a virtual world out of the real one. It allows players to catch Pokemon in the real world, level them up and use them in gym battles.

Magikarp Jump is one of the newest games from the franchise on the list. The game is targeted to casual players who want a simple little game to pass their time. However, it is definitely addictive and fun! The primary objective in the game is to train your Magikarp. Players are faced with the challenge of making their Magikarps flop higher than their opponent’s Magikarp.

By feeding and training your Magikarp, you make it stronger. Also, the game takes players on a nostalgic ride by featuring cameos from other Pokemons as well alongside customizations.

#5 Pokemon Shuffle Mobile

Pokémon Shuffle Mobile is an underrated yet super fun game to play on your Android and iOS. In fact, this is one of the first games that came out for mobile. The game follows the classic match-three style mechanics alongside some combat mechanics. It is basically Candy Crush for the Pokemon lovers out there. Players need to match up a bunch of different shapes to land an attack on their foes. Additionally, the more shapes a player matches, the larger the attack is.
