Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has been going from strength to strength in the country with a huge number of players participating and engaging in the game. Recently, Krafton just announced BGMI Esports Roadmap 2022 and there’s a lot to look forward to.

Krafton announced 4 major tournaments for 2022 to keep the players engaged and excited. BGMI Esports tournaments have been greatly admired and followed in recent years. It is only natural to cash in on that craze.

According to the roadmap laid down by Krafton, Battlegrounds Mobile Open Challenge (BMOC) is the tournament that will kick things off for this year. The registration for this would open towards the end of February and will have in-game qualifiers. This would happen at the beginning of March.

Season1 and 2 of Battlegrounds Mobile Pro Series (BMPS) will be following this up. This would be a ground breaking BGMI Esports tournament.

The concluding event will be Battlegrounds Mobile India Series (BMIS).

Why is this so huge?

BGMI Esports are the new big thing right now and they are garnering a lot of revenue. The BMPS Season 1 will have a prize pool of Rs 2 Crore. The same will be applicable for Season 2 as well. This is the biggest prize money any single Esports event in India, according to Krafton. The fact that Krafton is investing this much in these events means that there’s a huge number of takers and that the corporation is here to stay.

The BMIS 2022 is the second time the event would be happening. Initially the first iteration was last year, 2021.

Building on a strong foundation

Last year’s BGMI Esports tournament was a grand success. Owing to the great, competitive gameplay ever in BGMI Esports. The peak concurrent number of viewers was 493,000 and that is a testament to the grandeur of the event. In total, the tournament garnered 200 million views.
Skylightz Gaming was ultimately crowned the champions of the event in 2021. With the success of this event on their backs, Krafton would be eager to have a bigger tournament this time over. There are only weeks left for it to start now.
