Facebook changed its name officially to ‘Meta’ on October 29, 2021. After this announcement, reports of a Meta smartwatch being in the works have surfaced online. Talks of Facebook working towards a smartwatch have been making rounds of the internet for quite some time. It seems like it is finally on its way to becoming a reality. In addition, we also get to see an image of the very first Meta smartwatch by Facebook. Here is a quick rundown of all the details.

According to a report by Bloomberg, Facebook is working towards their very first smartwatch under the newly announced Meta branding. In addition, the report also reveals that the upcoming Meta smartwatch will also feature a camera for video calls. We will also see a rounded display on the smartwatch, going by the leaked image.

The leaked image also reveals a dew-drop notch for the camera, at the bottom of the display. On the right side, we see a button which is presumably for navigation purposes. This particular image of the Meta smartwatch has been leaked via the Meta app. This particular app is basically made for the Facebook RayBan Stories smart glasses.

On top of all this, the report also suggests that we shall be seeing interchangeable straps on the smartwatch. Now, the leaked image revealing a camera sensor is definitely something that will make the smartwatch stand out in an already saturated market.

Moreover, Facebook is also reportedly working with the top US wireless carriers to bring LTE support to the device. The Meta smartwatch will come in the Black, White and Gold colour options. When it comes to the price of the device, it will most likely be priced at around $400, which is roughly Rs. 30,000.
