  • New reports about the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Battery indicate that Samsung may not increase the battery capacity in its next clamshell foldable smartphone. The upcoming device is expected to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 at Samsung’s annual summer event, which usually takes place in July.

According to recent leaks, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could carry a battery setup similar to the current generation model. While the capacity may remain the same, improvements in efficiency from new hardware and software could still help deliver better battery performance.

Samsung typically uses a split battery design in its foldable phones. This allows the company to place battery cells in both halves of the folding body. The same approach is expected for the Galaxy Z Flip 8 as well.

The latest Galaxy Z Flip 8 Battery leak comes from a report that claims the phone will include two separate battery cells. Together, these cells are expected to deliver a total capacity similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 7.

    Reported battery details include:

    • 1,150mAh secondary battery cell
    • 3,024mAh main battery cell
    • Combined rated capacity of about 4,174mAh
    • Expected typical battery capacity of 4,300mAh

If these details are accurate, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 will match the battery capacity of its predecessor. However, Samsung may still improve battery life through better power management and chipset efficiency.

A similar situation reportedly happened with Samsung’s Galaxy S26 Ultra, which achieved better battery performance than the previous model even though the battery size remained the same.

    Expected Features And Launch Timeline

Apart from the Galaxy Z Flip 8 Battery, other early leaks suggest the phone may not bring major hardware upgrades, especially in the camera department. Instead, Samsung could focus on refining the overall experience.

    Expected specifications:

    • Exynos 2600 chipset built on a 2nm process
    • Split battery design inside the foldable body
    • Possible minor camera improvements
    • Foldable clamshell design

Reports also suggest Samsung plans to produce around 3 million units of the Galaxy Z Flip 8 before launch. In comparison, the company may produce about 3.5 million units of the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

In terms of pricing, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 could start at around EUR 1,199 (roughly Rs 1,26,880) for the 256GB variant, which is similar to the previous model. The official announcement is expected in the second half of the year, likely during Samsung’s July launch event.
