India Climbs Two Ranks In Speedtest Global Index Ookla: Reports

According to the Ookla Speedtest World Index, India has advanced two points in the global rankings for median mobile Internet speeds in April 2022. While India’s average fixed broadband speed has dipped, the average mobile download speed has risen.

According to the latest global rankings, median limited broadband speeds for India have dropped four positions internationally to 76 from 72 in March. The UAE and Singapore topped the worldwide rankings for mobile broadband and fixed broadband performance, respectively, according to the index study.

Speed In April

The Ookla Speedtest Global Index for April 2022 is now available. During April, India’s median mobile speeds rose two points to 118 compared to the previous month’s 120. Compared to March, India’s average mobile download speed jumped to 14.19 megabits per second in April.

Speedtest Global Index

Compared to its March ranking of 72 for median fixed broadband speeds, the United States fell four spots to 76 in April. In April, India’s average limited broadband speed fell to 48.09Mbps from 48.15Mbps, a decline of 0.1Mbps.

Performers excelling in Speedtest Global Index

United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Singapore (Singapore) were the top two nations on the ranking. The United Arab Emirates ranked first in mobile broadband, with a download speed of 134.48Mbps on average. The median fixed broadband download speed in Singapore is 207.61Mbps, making it the fastest country for fixed broadband.

Ukraine and Papua New Guinea were among the biggest gainers in April 2022. Papua New Guinea’s fixed broadband performance ranked highest in April 2022, while Ukraine’s mobile broadband performance ranked highest in April 2022.
