Meta Brings Incognito Chat in WhatsApp to Enhance AI Privacy
Meta has introduced “Incognito Chat” for Meta AI on WhatsApp and the Meta AI app, aiming to strengthen privacy in AI conversations. The feature uses Private Processing technology and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) to ensure chats remain secure and inaccessible, even to Meta.

Conversations will not even load on servers and will disappear automatically after sessions end. Initially supporting text-only interactions, the feature is designed for users seeking confidential discussions on sensitive topics such as health, finance, and personal matters.
As Of Now, It’s Only For AI, But Will Come For Chats Soon
Meta says the privacy model is comparable to WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption. The company also plans to launch “Side Chat with Meta AI” for private AI assistance within ongoing chats. Moreover, a separate Incognito chat in WhatsApp for user-to-user conversation will also arrive soon. The rollout will expand gradually over the coming months.
