Motorola’s Edge 30 series phones have recently debuted in India. The company mostly launches its Edge lineup as the Moto X series in China. So, even the Motorola Moto X40 series will be launched later this year in China.

Now the General Manager of Lenovo China Mobile, Chen Jin, has teased the Moto X40’s debut in China. Also its crucial specifications. The Motorola Moto X40 will have an upgraded flagship SoC over its predecessor, the Motorola Moto Edge X30.

The Motorola Moto Edge X30 was launched in December 2021 as the world’s first Snapdragon 8 Gen 1-powered phone.

Motorola Moto X40 Specifications

The teased specifications of the smartphone reveal that the smartphone will ship with LPDDR5 RAM. It will feature the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The flagship will debut at the next month’s Snapdragon Summit event held from November 15 – November 17, 2022.

The new smartphone has also visited 3C and TENAA certification websites. This has revealed the charging details and design of the smartphone. It will feature 68W fast charging technology. Rather than the 125W fast charging technology that was on the Motorola Moto X30 Pro.

The smartphone has a punch-hole display with curved edges. There is a volume rocker and power button on the right side. It also has a square camera island that houses a triple-camera setup. Also an LED flash at the top-left corner at the back. The Moto batwing logo is placed at the centre of the rear panel.

The rumour mill suggests that the Motorola Moto X40 could step in late November 2022. It could be the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered phone. However, we are not aware of the complete specifications of the new smartphone.
