  • OnePlus was one of the earliest brands to adopt the Android 16 beta back in March. At the time, it shipped without any customizations to the OxygenOS interface. Now, the company is taking a step further by launching the OxygenOS 16 beta testing program, giving users an early preview of both Google’s updates and OnePlus’s own tweaks to the software. So, here is everything you need to know about this.

OxygenOS 16 Beta Testing Program Details

OxygenOS 16 beta testing begins on these devices

The brand has officially opened recruitment for its Closed Beta Testing (CBT) phase of OxygenOS 16. Currently, participation is limited to users of the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R (also known as 13s in some regions), but additional devices are expected to be added to the program in the coming weeks.

Closed beta builds are still in development and not fully polished, which means they may come with bugs or unfinished features. OnePlus limits access to these early versions to a small group of users in order to collect feedback and fine-tune the software for improved stability. After ironing out major issues, the company typically moves to an open beta phase—these builds are more stable and made available to a broader range of OnePlus users.

    This Is A Confidential Program

The ongoing OxygenOS 16 Closed Beta testing program for the OnePlus 13 and 13s is under strict confidentiality. Participants are prohibited from sharing any details related to the software—this includes the interface, features, wallpapers, fonts, version numbers, update instructions, code, and any communications within official channels. OnePlus also advises against using benchmarking tools or distributing the upgrade packages.

At this time, OnePlus is no longer accepting new applications for the Closed Beta on the OnePlus 13 and 13s. However, those interested should keep an eye on the OnePlus Community for updates in case recruitment opens for a second batch.
