Naughty Dog has announced The Last of Us Part II is getting a remastered version for the PS5 console. The developer has revealed the game will arrive with improved graphics, game modes and new outfits for players.
The Last Of Part II originally arrived on the PS4 in 2020, and the game received a PS5 update with 60FPS support in 2021. It is now getting a remastered version that will arrive on the next-gen console in 2024.
The Last Of Us Part II Remastered Arriving In 2024
The Last Of Us Part II Remastered will launch on January 19, 2024, for the PS5 console. It brings a new mode called No Return, offering a roguelike survival experience with endless enemies. You can choose different playable characters in this mode, each with their own unique playstyle, such as stealth or combat.
Furthermore, this mode will have a wide range of enemies, and each run will offer you a new reward. These include new characters, skins and more as you compete against other players on the global leaderboard.
The Last Of Us Part II Remastered also brings a new playable guitar section called the Guitar Free Play mode. This will allow players to strum the guitar strings with their favourite character across several in-game locations. Moreover, you can use audio FX pedals to improve your performance further.
The remastered version also includes behind-the-scenes, offering players a glimpse into the game’s development. Players can get an insight into the developer’s commentary to know their thoughts and intentions behind each level.
These include commentaries from director Neil Druckmann, narrative lead Halley Gross, and actors Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey. There are also new Lost Levels, which include playable sequences cut from the original game.
It Will Offer Native 4K Output With Faster Loading Times
The Last Of Part II Remastered also offers improved visuals with better graphics and native 4K output in the Fidelity mode. The performance mode runs the game in 1440p and upscales it to 4K.
You also get an unlocked frame rate option for TVs with VRR, better detail and texture resolution, higher shadow quality, and more. It also includes support for the DualSense wireless controller with better haptic feedback. The game also takes advantage of the SSD on the PS5 to reduce the loading times.
The Last Of Us Part II Remastered standard and WLF edition will be available for pre-order from December 5. The WLF edition, available in select markets, includes goodies like the Steelbook case, 47 Society of Champion trading cards and more.
PlayStation 4 owners can upgrade to the digital version of the remastered edition for just $10 (around Rs. 800) at launch. Furthermore, players can also import their saves from the original game. The disc version of the game will be available for those having a PS5 with a disc drive.
