Since its introduction, Whatsapp Pay has been a non-starter in the UPI payments competition. Moreover, the company is now attempting to entice businesses and general users to use the platform. In order to achieve a substantial market share in the payments sector, the messaging behemoth has gained regulatory authority to expand its payments service to more than 100 million users in India.

WhatsApp has become increasingly active in India against rival UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, and PayTM. When making payments using its platform, the Meta-owned company will soon provide up to Rs 33 in return.

According to Reuters, WhatsApp will pay up to Rs 33 for payments made using its payments feature, which lets users transmit money to one other from within the messenger program. The deal is likely to become online by the end of May.

However, a page describing the parameters of the cashback offer has already gone up on Whatsapp’s FAQ section. According to the company, the offer is only available to a few people, and if you’re qualified, you’ll see a banner within the app or a gift symbol when transferring money to an eligible recipient.

You might gain Rs 11 cashback for every successful transaction if you send money to any of your registered WhatsApp friends if you’re one of the lucky ones. There is no minimum payment amount, and users can get Rs 11 return up to three times by transferring money to three distinct individuals. Please keep in mind that the offer is only valid once per contact.

This offer is currently unavailable for Whatsapp Business customers, and it is limited to those who have been on the site for at least 30 days.

WhatsApp has tried to attract customers with cashback before; in the past, the company ran an offer in which a user could earn Rs 51 cashback five times, bringing the total return to Rs 255. You might get Rs 51 for every successful money transfer to another WhatsApp friend.
