On December 15, the Motorola Moto X40, the flagship companion to the Motorola Moto Edge X30, will launch in China. Motorola still remains tight-lipped about the specifications and price of this smartphone. Furthermore, its design specifics are being kept under wraps. This device is listed on JD.com ahead of its debut, with users able to pre-order it. Meanwhile, the company has revealed a few crucial details in the run-up to the Moto X40’s release. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC will power the device.
According to JD.com, the Moto X40 will be on sale in China on December 15 at 7:30 p.m. local time (5 pm IST). Unfortunately, no more information is there in the listing. Additionally, Motorola has previously revealed that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC will power this smartphone.
The Moto X40 is dust- and water resistant, with an IP68 rating. Motorola has revealed on Weibo that this future flagship smartphone would have a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging functionality. Moreover, the company will also introduce MyUI 5.0 during the December 15 launch event.

Expected Specifications of Moto X40
The X40 will include 68W fast charging technology rather than the 125W fast charging technology featured on the X30 Pro. The selfie camera on the Moto X40 has a 32-megapixel primary lens. Furthermore, the smartphone’s back includes three lenses (Primary, Ultra-Wide Angle and Macro). The resolutions of these lenses are 50-megapixel, 13-megapixel, and 5-megapixel, respectively.
Motorola has scheduled an event in China for December 15th, and the teaser image displays two phones side by side. While the invite does not mention it, we may infer that the Motorola X40 will be there during the event because it is the most rumoured phone right now, and the X30 launched around the same time last year.
