  • YouTube is testing fresh updates for its paid users, bringing YouTube Premium new features that aim to improve how people watch and listen to content. The platform has rolled out two experimental tools, Auto-speed and On-the-go mode, giving subscribers more control and convenience while consuming videos and audio.

These features are currently available on a trial basis, allowing users to explore them and share feedback before a wider release. The updates are designed to enhance everyday viewing, especially for users who watch videos while multitasking or traveling.

YouTube Premium New Features: Auto-Speed Feature Enhances Video Playback

    YouTube Premium brings Auto-Speed feature

One of the key YouTube Premium new features is Auto-speed, which automatically adjusts video playback speed based on the content. This means users no longer need to manually change speed settings during a video.

    Key details of Auto-speed:

    • Automatically adjusts playback speed in real time
    • Available only for English-language videos
    • Works on Android and iOS devices
    • Automatically disables for unsupported videos

To use this feature, users can open the playback speed menu in the video player and toggle the Auto-speed option. Once enabled, the system takes over speed adjustments, offering a smoother viewing experience.

On-the-Go Mode Designed For Easy Listening

Another major addition to the YouTube Premium new features lineup is the On-the-go mode. This feature focuses on audio-first experiences, making it easier to listen to content while moving.

    Key details of On-the-go mode:

    • Available only on Android smartphones
    • Ideal for podcasts, talk shows, and audio content
    • Activates automatically when motion is detected
    • Can also be enabled manually through player settings

The feature can trigger automatically if the device detects movement, such as walking or running for at least 60 seconds. Users also have the option to switch it on manually from the video settings.

YouTube has confirmed that these experimental features will be available for a limited time, until April 27. With these YouTube Premium new features, the platform continues to explore ways to make content consumption more flexible and user-friendly.
