Oppo launched its latest player, the Oppo A92s, under the popular A-series of smartphone this year in April in the Chinese market and it will be launched in the Indian market around 30th of June. Although, the device is capable of 5G, in India 5G network coverage is far-fetched. Coming back to the smartphone, it is powered by a Mediatek chipset and houses a higher refresh rate display panel. Oppo A92S is targeted towards giving low to mid-ranged budget consumers a hint of what a 120Hz feels like, and as always, this will also be a camera-centric phone with a punch-hole camera cut-out.
Oppo A92S Price in India
Oppo A92S is launched in the mid-range segment and is currently available in China only. Oppo A92S is priced in China at CNY 2,199 (around Rs. 23,700) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option and CNY 2,499 (around Rs. 27,000) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Oppo A92S price in India is yet to be announced and it is speculated to launch in the Indian market by the end of June. Oppo A92S will be released in India around the same price as that of Poco X2.
Oppo A92sS has very thin bezels and a punch-hole camera cut out on the top left of the phone. On the back, there’s a square camera cut out, which resembles the one we have seen on the Google Pixel 4 and many other modern-day smartphones. There is also the branding of Oppo somewhere near the bottom edge. The button placement is simple with the power button-cum-fingerprint sensor placed on the right-hand side whereas the volume rockers are placed on the left. At the bottom, we get a 3.5mm audio jack sitting beside the USB Type-C port and the speaker grille. The dimensions of Oppo A92S are 163.8×75.5×8.1mm and weighs 184 grams.
Oppo A92S comes in multiple colour variants which are black, white, and pink.
Oppo A92S comes with a 6.57-inch LTPS IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 20:9, which is pretty standard nowadays. The screen has a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels and a decent screen to body ratio of around 84.3%. The main highlight of this display is that it has a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is rarely seen in this price segment. The display has 401PPI pixel density and can brighten up to 480nits. It also has amazing auto-brightness. You can also expect high refresh rates in heavy games like PUBG-M and COD-M.
The hardware configuration of the Oppo A92S comprises an octa-core MediaTek MT6873V Dimensity 800 5G chipset clocking at 2 GHz speed. This configuration ensures maximum efficiency for the smooth performance of the device. Additionally, its Mali-G57 MC4 GPU backed by 6GB RAM provides a lag-free gaming experience. But the chipset can heat and the performance will obviously degrade after long hours of gaming. The device also boasts 128GB of non-expandable storage.
The back panel of Oppo A92S houses 4 cameras with features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection, Touch to focus. The primary sensor is 48MP with f/1.7 aperture. The secondary camera is an 8MP Ultra-wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 119-degree field of view. The third and fourth cameras are telephoto and depth sensor each of 2MP and f/2.4 aperture. Oppo A92S can shoot 4k videos at 30fps and you can choose from 30 to 120fps shooting options while shooting a video.
On the front side, the camera cut out houses dual-selfie camera sensors, with the primary one being 16MP and the second one being 2MP depth camera for great edge detection and night-time photography.
Oppo A92s houses a pretty decent 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The battery can charge pretty fast and can last for an entire day depending on your usage.
Oppo A92S is a great smartphone and it has an eye-catching design. The phone has a decent processor and can be given a shot if you are a fan of high refresh rate displays. Although the display is not AMOLED, it still is good. A similar design and somewhat better configuration can be seen on the less costly POCO X2, which offers a similar 120Hz refresh rate panel along with a modern design with glass back and an overall better powertrain. The POCO X2 also offers a faster (27W) charging technology and an all-rounding camera performance.
