Fans of the Borderlands series were jumping with joy when Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands was announced. Thankfully, we are now close to getting our hands on this game. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ release date is March 25, 2022. While this game is similar to the gameplay you’ll find in the Borderlands franchise, it has added plenty of new things into the mix.
Tiny Tina has been a fan favourite character ever since she first appeared in Borderlands 2. The thirteen-year-old explosives expert had a quirky personality that instantly warmed everyone’s heart. She’s even had her own Borderlands 2 DLC with Assault on Dragon Keep. Now, she has her own spin-off game releasing. Let’s look at a few points you should keep in mind before buying the game.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Story
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is set in a different world than the Borderlands games. The game’s events are taking place right after the ending of Borderlands 2 and before the start of Borderlands 3. Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands story will be topsy-turvy if you take into account the Assault on Dragon Keep DLC and the Borderlands universe in general.
The game’s world is a fantasy realm created by the genius and eccentricity of Tiny Tina. Since Tiny Tina fancies herself as a dungeon master, the quests and storylines will be similar to a Dungeons and Dragons narrative. However, since Tiny Tina is *slightly* unstable, the game world will change according to her wishes and choices.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Cast
The cast of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is a stellar one. Ashly Burch takes on the role of the titular protagonist. She’s also been the voice actor for Aloy in Horizon Zero Dawn, and Chloe Price in the impressive narrative-driven adventure game Life Is Strange.
Will Arnett returns to voice acting as the voice actor for Dragon Lord, the game’s antagonist. You may know him from his beautiful work in Netflix’s BoJack Horseman. He’s got some big shoes to fill, especially if you consider the style of antagonists in Borderlands (cue Handsome Jack).
For Frette, a new robot character, Wanda Sykes will be taking up the mantle. Frette is obsessed with rules to a fault. Regardless, this would make for exciting banter with Tiny Tina.
Lastly, we have the evergreen Andy Samberg as the voice actor for Captain Valentine, a headstrong supporting character. Samberg is well known for his role as Jake Peralta in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, a top-rated sitcom. Samberg has had previous experience with voiceovers, so this should be a piece of cake for him!
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Gameplay
Since this is a spin-off of the Borderlands franchise, the gameplay of Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will be similar to the main games. Borderlands created an entirely new subgenre of first-person shooting games, with the role-playing elements and the loot mechanics.
All of this will be present in this game. However, a few new things have been added as well. A complex class system has been established for the game. Players will be able to choose from six different classes. These are:
The Berserker class inspires this class in Borderlands 3. Players who use this class will be provided with an ice axe. They’ll have two special attacks called Feral Surge and Dreadwind.
Since Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands enables players to focus on stealth, this class is excellent. Gamers using this class will be able to use powers such as From The Shadows and Ghost Blade.
The Spellshot class is for those players who want to use magic and spells. Ambi-Hextrous and Polymorph are two of the special powers allotted to this class in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.
Spore Warden is slightly different from the other classes. This class is presented with a companion and can use powers such as Barrage and Blizzard with their unique bow.
If you want to behave like Thor, then Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands gives you a chance with the Clawbringer class. Players using this class will be provided with a sizeable throwable hammer. This class uses powers such as Storm Dragon’s Judgement and Cleansing Flamers. More importantly, they have a dragon companion!
Graveborn is another class in Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands that is unique. The class is meant explicitly for players who like high-stakes gameplay. The more health you sacrifice with this class, the more powerful your attacks are. Reaper of Bones and Dire Sacrifice abilities will instantly drain large portions of your health.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Multiplayer
Recently, it was announced that Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands would have multiplayer and split-screen support. However, the biggest takeaway from this news is for crossplay. Moreover, cross-platform multiplayer for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC will be made available.
This is excellent news as Borderlands 3 only allowed cross-platform multiplayer for PC and Xbox owners. Finally, PlayStation owners will also be able to enjoy Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands with other players online.
Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Bonus Content – Endgame Content
You’ll find plenty of replayability with Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands. The game will provide Endgame content in the form of Chaos Chambers. Each run of the Chaos Chambers will have six dungeons and two bosses to deal with. Since there are 60 different dungeons, and the six in a playthrough will be selected randomly, the gameplay will remain fresh.
The goal of these playthroughs is to collect as many crystals as possible—the more the number of crystals, the better the loot at the end of the run. You can also hunt specific Legendaries for impressive haul that you require.
What about post-launch content for the game?
Post-Launch content for Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands will see more DLCs launched. A new player class will also be introduced. There will be four DLCs, and you can either purchase all of them through the Season Pass or buy them separately.
That’s it for the things to know before buying Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands! I’ve been a fan of the Borderlands franchise’s tight gameplay and crude humour. With Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands, I expect more of the same, albeit with some new and exciting additions to the gameplay.
