The Vivo X23 is a capable phone which is engineered to meet all the demands of a mid-range user. So, the performance, while good, is not suitable for gaming. If you are searching for a handset for demanding tasks like graphic-intensive gaming, then this is not the phone for you.
Vivo X23 comes with some significant modifications on the Vivo X20. Priced at Rs. 39,990, this phone is all set to define the high mid-range market with its competent specifications.
The Vivo X23 has an artistic display meant to attract your attention immediately. And that’s not where it stops! It provides decent internals with a capable mid-tier processor, efficient battery, and rewarding cameras. In its entirety, the phone offers what it promises – a decent performance for a crowd looking for a glimpse of flagship setting without spending too much on the premium brands.
Glass bodies have given smartphones an artistic touch, and Vivo X23 is an example of the same. The phone uses the gradient effect, something also makes the fuselage appear in different colours based on the impact of light on it. It also provides a 3-dimensional effect, expressing a rich tone of colours. The front of the phone is covered with a 2.5D glass, while the back uses a 3D glass.
The phone also comes with a JOVI Smart Assistant and hence the dedicated AI button is located on the left side of the fuselage. The phone also retains the 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is a nostalgic addition during these times when headphone jacks are slowly getting obsolete.
The Vivo X23 arrives with a 6.41 inches OLED screen with a beautiful resolution of 1080 x 2340. The screen seamlessly settles on the phone in a way that does not obstruct the colour gradient of the phone. It comes with the modern 19:5:9 aspect ratio. Due to the lack of thick bezels, the phone offers a beautiful screen ratio of 91.2%, ensuring that you can get an immersive experience. The colours appear bright and accurate.
The contrast is quite brilliant, even though you don’t get the deep blacks of an AMOLED screen. The display is bright for outdoor use, but harsh sunlight can create an issue. The screen comes with a next-gen in-Display fingerprint sensor which is quite snappy and functions marvellously.
In terms of performance, the Vivo X Series has been a brilliant contender, and the X23 is no different. It comes with a Snapdragon 670 octa-core processor paired with an Adreno 615 GPU. According to Vivo, this processor possesses 15% higher processing power, 80% higher AI-based computing power and 25% higher GPU image processing capabilities when put in comparison with the Snapdragon 660 variants used in the previous handsets. Coupled with 8GB RAM, the Vivo X23 is fast. It can run apps without an issue, and casual gaming works like a breeze. Only modern games require tweaking of settings to medium or low settings for a lag-free performance.
Due to the presence of a ten-layer heat dissipation structure which consists of a curable thermally conductive gel, a super-thermally conductive aluminium alloy, and composite graphite, heat dissipation capacity is increased by 10%. However, the phone does get a bit warm though it remains tolerable.
Vivo X23 upgrades on its camera advancing the clear photos and backlighting technology that Vivo X20 arrived with. This model equips itself with the Super HDR technology. Coming with a 125 degree super wide camera, the cameras are integrated with AI and include features like AI Scene Camera, Portrait Light Effect, AI Malformation Effect, and more. The phone arrives with a 12 MP primary camera at the back along with the super wide angle secondary 13MP camera. In daytime, the phone clicks incredible shots which are impressive. The details are significant, and the colours appear prominent and well-adjusted. The pictures have an excellent contrast too.
Indoor shots are impressive, though they might appear artificial and a bit bright. A bit of AI handling can bring the images to its true form.
The 12MP selfie camera works well and has similar features like the Rear camera. Due to the presence of AI Malformation Effect, it will get easier to remove blemishes from your photos.
The Vivo V23 comes with a massive 3400mAh battery. Since Vivo stays biased towards ‘performance to power ratio’, it can keep the phone alive for most parts of one and a half day with light to moderate use. Plus, the phone comes with fast charging tech, getting from 0% to 63% in half an hour and taking 76 minutes to get charged fully.
Vivo X23 is a significant advantage over the X23 model. Appearance-wise, it does not come with many changes except the beautiful screen with a screen fingerprint scanner which works fast. The cameras on this phone are brilliant, and it does not falter due to its pairing with a potent processor. The processor, however, may not be the best for heavy gaming purposes. All in all, this phone is a capable one providing reliable performance to the user.
