Vivo Y20i sports a plastic frame with a plastic back. The back-side of the phone gives off shiny looks akin to a phone with a glass back. On the back, we have a triple camera setup and the LED flash to go with it while on the front we have a glass-based screen with a teardrop-shaped notch for the front camera. The volume buttons and the power button, which also functions as a fingerprint scanner, are placed on the right side of the device. On the bottom, we have the micro USB port, the microphone, and the loudspeaker.
Vivo Y20i is available in Nebula Blue and Dawn White colours and the smartphone is 8.4mm thick and weighs about 192g.
The screen in the Vivo Y20i is a 6.51-inch 720 by 1600 pixel HD+ display with a 20:9 ratio. The display offers IPS technology with a screen-to-body ratio of 81.6% and a pixel density of 270ppi. There is a teardrop-shaped notch to house the front camera within the screen. The resolution is a bit less compared to the price tag carried by the device.
Vivo Y20i is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 under the hood, which is an 11nm processor with clock speeds up to 1.8GHz. The phone comes in with a single memory and storage variant of 3GB+64GB. The storage can be expanded via the dedicated microSD card slot provided up to 256GB of external storage.
It runs on the latest Android 10 with Vivo’s Funtouch 10.5 skin applied on top of it.
Vivo Y20i has a triple camera setup on the back and a single camera at the front, which is borrowed from the Vivo Y20i. The triple camera setup includes a 13MP main sensor with PDAF, a 2MP sensor for macro shots, and another 2MP sensor for depth effect. The camera has HDR capabilities and uses an LED flash for lighting. The video output via the rear camera is rated at 1080p at 30fps.
The front camera, on the other hand, includes a single 8MP wide sensor with video output rated at 1080p at 30fps which is the same as the rear camera.
The battery which powers the Vivo Y20i is a massive 5000mAh Li-Po battery with the capability of fast charging up to 18W with the power adapter included in the box. The fast charging may not seem so fast after all due to the massive capacity of the battery in the device.
Vivo Y20i is a good phone for those looking to buy a sub ₹20,000 smartphone but the fact that this is just a rebrand of the recently released Vivo Y20i, and carries quite similar specifications, this might be skipped for the favour of the Vivo Y20. The only thing that separates this phone from the Y20 is 3GB of memory and a ₹1,000 less price tag accompanying it.
