    Chromebooks are adaptable and portable laptops. They run Chrome OS, a portable operating system, and it has fewer features than macOS, Windows, or Linux.     How to copy and paste on Chromebook?

    There are three commonly acknowledged techniques for copying and pasting data on Chromebooks. Each of them has the same functionality, so it’s just a matter of choosing which one you want.

    Keyboards combos

    This method of copy and paste is quite similar to how a user does it on a Windows system by using a keyboard combination.

    • Press the text you want to copy and paste.
    • Hold down the Ctrl key (typically in the bottom-left corner of the keyboard), then press the letter c.
    • To paste, hold down the Ctrl key and then hit the letter v.

    Using the keyboard mentioned above first, hold shortcuts, you may copy and paste text on Chromebooks while keeping the formatting intact. Follow the steps below to copy only text without links or other formatting components.

    • Pree the text you want to copy and paste
    • Hold down the Ctrl key (typically in the bottom-left corner of the keyboard), then press the letter c.
    • To paste, hold down Ctrl and Shift at the same time, then press the letter v.


    Those users who don’t like the keyboard combination can use the trackpad on Chromebook for copying and pasting.

    • Choose the text you want to copy and paste.
    • Move the mouse over the text that has been highlighted.
    • Tap the trackpad with two fingers.
    • Select Copy.
    • Place the cursor where you want the text to be pasted and press two fingers on the trackpad.
    • Select Paste.
    • If applicable, a new option called Paste without formatting will appear.

    Chrome OS fully supports mice, allowing you to copy and paste traditionally on Chromebooks.

    • Copy and paste the text you want to copy.
    • Place the cursor over the text that has been highlighted.
    • Make a right-click with your mouse.
    • Copy is the option.
    • Move your mouse cursor to the location where you want to paste the text and right-click.
    • The Paste is the option.
    • You’ll see another option that says Paste without formatting if it’s applicable.

    How to copy and paste an image on Chromebooks?

    You might need to copy and paste a picture rather than just text. On a Chromebook, you can do the same thing. Hold your pointer over an image, then press the Alt key on your keyboard to copy and paste it. Next, while holding down the Alt key, click your Chromebook’s trackpad.

    On your Chromebook’s screen, a box with various options will appear. First, place your pointer where it says Copy image. Next, hold and use your trackpad to click it.

    To paste the image, navigate to the page or document where you want it to appear. Hold down the Alt key and press down on the trackpad on your Chromebook to bring up the quick menu, then select Paste to paste your image.

    How to see the copied history?

    Google recently added the ability to paste text that is longer than the last text you copied. As a result, you can now see the last five instances with which you used the copy function! Simply follow the steps outlined below.

    • Any of the methods listed above can be used to copy any text.
    • At least one more piece of text should be copied.
    • Press the Search and V keys at the same time when you’re ready to paste.
    • You’ll be given a list of up to five texts that have been copied.
    • Choose one and watch the magic unfold.
