Google’s Next Pixel Phone Might Be Foldable

Since last year, the demand and popularity of foldable smartphones have drastically increased. Having said that, Google Pixel devices have enjoyed massive user support since they were introduced.

With several manufacturers such as Samsung and Huawei already offering foldable phones, other manufacturers also want to board the train. A few days ago, reports came out that Apple is working on a foldable phone. Now, speculations suggest that Google is also working on a foldable Pixel device.

According to sources, the company could launch the new Pixel foldable phone by the end of this year. Like other manufacturers that are relying on Samsung for foldable displays, Google will make use of Samsung panels.

When will the foldable Google Pixel come out?

The company has already added support for various foldable devices since Android 10. Android supports multiple folding patterns with features such as multi-window support, app resizing and continuity.

One thing for sure is that Samsung will provide foldable OLED screens to various manufacturers such as Oppo, Google and Xiaomi. The display will offer a high refresh rate similar to the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 2.

The foldable Google Pixel might with a 7.6 screen size, while details about the type of fold still remain unknown. Some sources suggest that the phone might be folded vertically. Other phone design details are also not known at the moment.

Previous leaks suggest that the phone will have the codename “Passport”. If Google continues to follow its current trend. the foldable Pixel phone may come with mid-range features at a high price.

The “Made by Google” event, which will take place during the second half of the year, might witness the launch of the new foldable Google Pixel phone.
