Motorola Ibiza To Launch in Q1 2021: Report

Lenovo-owned brand Motorola is reportedly preparing to launch a bunch of new smartphones very soon. They can launch an affordable 5G smartphone codenamed Ibiza, as per a report. In addition, according to a report, it is likely to launch in Q1 2021. The smartphone can power by a new 5G-enabled Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 series SoC.

As per a report, German publication TechnikNews in collaboration with Adam Conway from XDA Developers, the Motorola Ibiza smartphone’s model number is XT-2137. It is likely to come with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. However, there can be more options to choose from. The HD+ display can have a resolution of 720×1,600 pixels.

Motorola Ibiza Specifications (Rumored)

The leak suggests that the phone will come with the Snapdragon SM4350 processor. At the moment, Qualcomm does not have any 5G-capable Snapdragon 400-series chipsets. However,  the company has confirmed that such SoCs are in development. Motorola Ibiza can become one of the first budget smartphones powered by a 5G Qualcomm chipset.

The report also mentions the Qualcomm SoC powering the smartphone is codenames ‘holi’. However, there is no information on this chipset. Motorola Ibiza specifications tipped in the report include a 90Hz LCD display with HD+ resolution. It is not likely to be an OLED panel or support HDR.

In terms of optics, it can feature a triple rear camera setup that would consist of a main 48-MP Samsung sensor. This will pair with a 5-MP macro sensor (also from Samsung) and a 2-MP depth-sensing unit. The front of the phone will feature a 13-MP selfie camera.

This is not the only smartphone Motorola is reportedly working on. Capri, Caprip, and Nio are codenames for phones that the company is said to be working on and will likely launch this year.
