OnePlus has confirmed the launch date of its next flagship smartphone. The OnePlus 16 will be unveiled in China on October 12, with the company already highlighting gaming performance as one of its major upgrades.
The confirmation comes from OnePlus China president Li Jie Louis during the 2026 OnePlus Gaming Conference.

OnePlus 16 To Support 185FPS Gaming
The OnePlus 16 will introduce a new-generation Fengchi Gaming Kernel, which the company says can coordinate hardware resources across the phone. OnePlus claims this will allow games with native 185FPS support to maintain their maximum frame rate for longer periods.
The phone will also feature a 185Hz display, giving it a high-refresh-rate panel designed to match its 185FPS gaming capabilities. This could make supported games look smoother while also improving the visual response during fast-paced gameplay.
OnePlus says several games will support native 185fps on the phone from launch. The confirmed titles include Peace Elite, Arena Breakout, Nizhan: Future and Naruto Mobile.

New Three-Chip Gaming System Revealed
OnePlus is also introducing a self-developed three-chip esports system on the OnePlus 16. The system is designed to handle areas such as networking, touch response and display processing.
According to OnePlus, the technology can improve connection stability, touch responsiveness and visual clarity during gaming. The company also demonstrated the phone against nine other devices in a 10-device gaming test, claiming that the OnePlus 16 consistently registered faster responses under the same network and gameplay conditions.
These gaming features will be paired with flagship hardware. The OnePlus 16 is expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset and could also feature a 200MP primary camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, based on details revealed by OnePlus.
