The New WhatsApp Android App Navigation Update Will Bring An iPhone-Like Design: Here’s What You Should Know
WhatsApp is reportedly testing a redesigned bottom navigation bar for Android users, bringing a look closer to its iPhone counterpart. Spotted in beta version 2.26.38.10, the new interface separates the navigation bar from the bottom edge and gives it rounded corners and a floating appearance.

The redesign is currently under development and has not yet been released to beta testers. WhatsApp has also not announced an official rollout date for Android users.
What Can Android Users Expect?
- Floating navigation bar: The bottom bar will appear separated from the screen edge, creating a floating look.
- Rounded corners: The redesigned controls will have softer, rounded edges similar to WhatsApp on iPhone.
- Updated tabs: Main sections such as Chats, Communities, Updates and Calls will continue to be accessible from the bottom navigation area.
- Light and dark themes: The redesign is being developed for both themes, although the changes are currently more visible in Light Mode.
