Google launched its newest series recently, the Pixel 6 series. It included two models – a standard Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Interestingly, the series also launched with an all-new Tensor chip from the company. But as hinted earlier this week, it looks like the company is planning to add another model to its lineup – Google Pixel 6a. This came in light thanks to the 5K renders via 91mobiles. However, in a recent report, some more details of the smartphone have surfaced online.

A fresh report suggests some key specifications of the upcoming mid-range smartphone. It will apparently power on the same Tensor SoC as the Pixel 6. The report also mentions the cameras that Google Pixel 6a may be sporting. According to the report, the rear camera module is said to get the same design as the Google Pixel 6. This particular info has some weight to it as renders that were shared earlier this week hinted the same. Pixel 6a will succeed the Google Pixel 5a 5G and may launch in India.
From the reports, Pixel 6a will be powered by the Google Tensor GS101 SoC. It is speculated that the smartphone will get flagship features like Google Assistant voice typing, Live HDR, and on-device translations. The report also suggests that the upcoming Pixel 6a’s dual rear camera setup will get a 12.2-megapixel Sony IMX363 sensor which is a part of the Pixel 3 to Pixel 5a 5G. The phone may also feature an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 front camera.

Pixel 6a Leaks
From the previous renders, we can see that Google Pixel 6a will be a cheaper and smaller sibling of the Pixel 6 with a similar design language. It will have a glass back with a dual-tone design and a camera visor. The renders confirm the device will feature a dual-camera setup with a single LED flash. At the front, the phone will feature a flat 6.2-inch OLED display with a punch-hole camera at the centre. It will also house an in-display fingerprint scanner — one that’s hopefully better than the buggy and slow sensor found on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.

Although this leak does not shed any light on the specs or pricing of the Google Pixel 6a. But we should not be worried about that aspect, as Google smartphone’s leak ahead of their launch, it is only a matter of time before that happens.
