Redmi Note 8 2021 Version Officially Confirmed, To Launch Soon

Xiaomi confirms it’s working on Redmi Note 8 2021 version. To recall, it surfaced on various certification sites like Bluetooth SIG and US Federal Communications Commission (FCC). The company confirmed this officially through a tweet announcing that it has sold over 25 million units of the Redmi Note 8. In addition, Xiaomi teases the arrival of the 2021 version. Moreover, we can expect it to bring slight upgrades to the 2019 model. However, it looks like it will launch globally but not in the Indian market.

Furthermore, both these listing reveals that it is a new device. Both these certifications sport the model number M1908C3JGG. To recall, Redmi Note 8 launched about two years ago. Leaks suggest the new model will offer a new processor, among other upgrades.

Redmi Note 8 (2021) Leaks

The phone’s key specifications have also leaked online through social media tipsters. Redmi Note 8 (2021) is reported to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC. It has also surfaced on several certification sites like FCC and EEC hinting that it may be a work in progress. A new leak also suggests revealed the upcoming phone would come with 22.5W fast charging support and a quad-camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor. It can also offer storage up to 128GB.

The report further says that the phone will be initially available in select markets, such as the EU and Russia. XDA Developers Kacper Skrzypek took to Twitter to share that a new Xiaomi handset with the model number M1908C3JGG spotted on the FCC certification site. The FCC listing leaks that the Redmi Note 8 (2021) may power on the MediaTek Helio G85 SoC, packs a 4,000mAh battery, and runs on MIUI 12.5. The same model number also spotted on European EEC certification as well.

On the other hand, the Bluetooth SIG listing of the M1908C3JGG mentions it as the Redmi Note 8. The older version – which debuted in 2019 carried support for Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity. However, its newer version that has appeared at Bluetooth SIG is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2. Hence, it appears to be the 2021 edition of the Redmi Note 8. At present, there is no official information available on its existence.

Furthermore, Redmi Note 8 (2021) is expected to arrive in markets like the EU, Russia, and few other regions. Now that the smartphone has received important certifications, it appears that it may go, official, later this month or in early June.
