Xiaomi recently announced its new HyperOS for its phones, and the new OS will debut on the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series. It will replace the 13-year-old MIUI skin which Xiaomi has been shipping on its phones. A new leak has revealed the user interface of HyperOS, showcasing the changes and similarities it brings.

According to the leaked screenshots, the upcoming HyperOS will look similar to MIUI, albeit with a few changes. The new UI retains the Control Centre in MIUI, but the position of some aspects has changed with the clock and date now on the right corner of the screen. Some users, however, have criticized the design for resembling iOS 18.

Furthermore, it also seems inspired by Android 14 with new lock screen customization changes, vertical clock options, new fonts and widgets and advanced wallpaper customization.

There is also a new UI for the dialer, messages, clock, weather and other stock apps. Similarly, the camera app has also been overhauled for better one-handed usage.

However, the app icon looks similar to MIUI, but there is a high possibility that the final version could change as this is an early HyperOS beta release. You also get new Always-On display styles and improved transitions in the UI. The leak also revealed that HyperOS will get a new charging animation and minor UI changes in the interface across the OS.

With HyperOS, Xiaomi is trying to create a unified operating system that will work across its wide range of products. This will allow the company to develop its ecosystem across 200 product categories, which include smart home devices, wearables, smartphones, cars and more.

It will replace Xiaomi’s ageing MIUI skin and will bring a fresh look to its smartphones. The new operating system will debut on October 31 with the upcoming Xiaomi 14 series. It will also roll out to existing Xiaomi phones globally from 2024.
