Last week, I published a Samsung Galaxy A57 review, and now I’m going to share a detailed review of its midrange counterpart, the Samsung Galaxy A37. The base Galaxy A27 model in the A series is set to launch soon. Anyway, I’ve been using this phone since last month, and I covered almost every aspect like playing games, watching videos, and IPL matches, clicked a lot of photos and many more.

Samsung Galaxy A37 Design and Build

The Samsung Galaxy A37 features an amazing design and is similar to the Samsung Galaxy A57 and the Galaxy S26 series. Its finish is pleasing, I’m using its Light Violet colour, which looks amazing. Its giants design fits perfectly in a single hand.

    design

Some users may not like the plastic frame and slightly chunky 7.5mm profile. I personally felt this more because I was previously using the slimmer Galaxy A57 with its premium aluminium frame.

    camera design

However, if you judge the Galaxy A37 on its own, the design looks stylish, and the in-hand feel remains comfortable for everyday use.

This phone also comes with IP68 dust-tight and water-resistant, making it submersible up to 1.5m for 30 min. Moreover, this phone has body dimensions of 162.9 x 78.2 x 7.4 mm and weighs 196 grams.

    bottom

Moving on to the Samsung Galaxy A37 port, it has a power button and volume buttons on the right side, while its top contains a secondary speaker. At the bottom, it has a Type-C slot, a main speaker, a SIM tray, and a microphone.

    Samsung Galaxy A37 Camera

Samsung Galaxy A37 comes with a triple rear camera setup, including a 50MP wide, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 5MP rear camera sensor.

    camera design

During the Samsung Galaxy A37 review, the camera performs well in daylight, especially if you enjoy taking portrait shots.

During my usage, I noticed that the phone captures pleasing colours with balanced skin tones, and the edge detection in portrait mode is surprisingly good for its segment.

    camera sample

Most daylight photos look social-media-ready without needing much editing. The dynamic range is decent, and Samsung’s image processing keeps colours vibrant without making them look overly saturated.

However, in low-light photography, the phone starts to show its limitations. Images often look grainy and slightly pixelated, especially when there is limited surrounding light. Look at the flower images I clicked around 6 PM. Evening images look pixelated.

Detail retention also drops noticeably at night, and shadows sometimes appear soft or noisy. While the camera is perfectly fine for casual daytime photography. If you are expecting flagship-like low-light performance, you may feel disappointed.

    camera sample

Regarding the front camera, selfies are satisfactory, and you can see that my image’s dynamic range is consistent across all three images. Moreover, in portrait mode, edges are perfectly rendered. So, no issue in front camera.

    front camera

You can record 4K video at 30 fps with the rear and front cameras. I also recorded a few videos in the park, where there were so many people around me, but the phone still captured my voice perfectly. So, if you are looking for content creation, it might not be perfect, but decent basic recording stuff.

Samsung Galaxy A37 Battery and Charging

The Samsung Galaxy A37 comes with a standard 5,000 mAh battery, offering decent battery life. During the Samsung Galaxy A37 review, I watched IPL matches and videos, played games, and used the phone moderately, and I got over 9 hours of screen time. When I used it heavily, like playing most of the games, I got almost 7 hours of SOT. So, it totally depends on you how much battery life you get.

There is no charger in the box; you will only get a Type-C cable with the box, as per Samsung Policy. But it supports 45W charging, which takes almost an hour to fully charge. However, I used my 20W Apple charger to charge this phone, which took almost 75 minutes to charger fully from zero to 100 per cent.

    Samsung Galaxy A37 Display

The Samsung Galaxy A37 comes with a bright Super AMOLED panel, making consuming multimedia content a real pleasure. The colours are bright and vivid, the blacks are deep, and everything is great for watching videos on YouTube or Netflix.

Moreover, the panel supports a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smooth scrolling and animations.

On the sunny day, there were no problems with visibility outside, as the brightness was quite sufficient. It seems that the display optimisation on Samsung devices remains one of their main advantages, and the Galaxy A37 is no exception.

    display

You can watch movies, browse various websites, play mobile games, and enjoy a great display, regardless of your budget. Its bezels are slightly thicker than those on the Samsung Galaxy A57, but they remain almost the same.

    Samsung Galaxy A37 Performance

The Samsung Galaxy A37 offers solid performance for a mid-range user. During my testing, the device performed adequately across all scenarios, including multitasking, social media, video playback, and web browsing, without significant lag. App loading times were not slow either, and with One UI optimisation, the performance was stable throughout the day.

    gaming ability

Additionally, I played BGMI and FreeFire on this device, and interestingly, it came out pretty well. While gaming, the device performed adequately and heated up slightly during normal gameplay, but there were no serious heating issues.

Compared to the Samsung Galaxy A57, I can easily distinguish the performance differences, as the latter is better in all respects. However, for a normal user who wants a stable mobile phone, the Samsung Galaxy A37 is adequate.

    Samsung Galaxy A37 benchmark results

I also ran several Benchmark tests on the Samsung Galaxy A37 to assess its performance across different aspects. Its Geekbench scores are 884 in single-core and 3002 in multi-core. The maximum in the CPU throttling test is 79 per cent. Moreover, its Antutu score is 939902. The 3D Mark Wildlife Extreme Stress Test for stability has an overall score of 98.5%.

Samsung Galaxy A37 Software and UI

Samsung Galaxy A37 runs on One UI 8.5 based on Android 16, which remains one of the cleanest and most polished Android experiences in this segment.

    Android 16 Samsung Galaxy A37 OneUI 8.5

The interface feels refined, animations are smooth, and overall navigation remains fluid in daily use. I personally like how Samsung keeps the UI simple while still offering plenty of customisation features for icons, widgets, themes, and lock screen styling.

    UI

Another thing I appreciated is that the phone does not come overloaded with unnecessary third-party apps. Most pre-installed applications are either Google or Samsung’s own ecosystem apps, which keep the experience cleaner.

    UI

You will also get some AI features which are part of Galaxy AI like Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and Samsung’s AI-based editing tools, which also add convenience to everyday use.

    Samsung Galaxy A37 UI

Samsung’s long-term software commitment is another major advantage here. Knowing that the device will continue to receive Android and security updates for years provides a sense of reliability, especially for users planning to keep the phone for a long time.

    Samsung Galaxy A37 Ui

Overall, the software experience on the Galaxy A37 feels polished, stable, and genuinely enjoyable in daily usage.

    Verdict

After the Samsung Galaxy A37 review, I can say it offers a well-rounded mid-range experience, with a fantastic screen, excellent software, long battery life, and decent daytime cameras. The phone’s software optimisation through Samsung’s One UI 8.5 also maintains its efficiency and stability in everyday use, with casual gaming in BGMI surprisingly good on the device.

The phone does have weaknesses when it comes to shooting photos in low light; its plastic build is less premium than others, and it’s slightly overpriced. But overall, if reliability and quality are the focus when looking at Samsung phones, the Galaxy A37 will still satisfy users’ needs.
