Realme Watch 2 Pro Specs at a glance

Before we talk more about the smartwatch, let’s see what on-paper specs look like:

  • Display: 1.75 Inch TFT LCD
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth v5.0, GPS
  • Supported OS: Android, iOS
  • Battery: 390 mAh
  • Weight: 40 grams

Realme Watch 2 Pro Design and Build

The design of the Realme Watch 2 Pro is somewhat simple. There is a dial that is in the shape of a square and is slightly elevated above the frame. The watch has a plastic casing with a shiny reflective finish on the outside which looks great.

On the right, you’ll find a home button. Highlighting the button is a yellow-coloured swiping line at its centre. The smartwatch has a weight of 40 grams, which feels quite comfortable on the wrist.

We are reviewing the Space Grey model, which looks great on various outfit combinations when merged with a black-coloured strap. Talking about straps, the Realme Watch 2 Pro has a silicone band. It’s gentle on the skin and comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Realme Watch 2 Pro IP rating

All of this adds up to a stylish smartwatch costing under 5k. Additionally, the watch has a dust and water resistance rating of IP68, making it suitable for use while working out in the rain. Do note that you can not use it while swimming.

Realme Watch 2 Pro Battery and Charging

Talking about the battery, Realme Watch 2 Pro has a 390mAh battery. The Realme Watch 2 Pro offers excellent battery life. A single charge of the smartwatch lasted me about 14 days of normal use.

My heart rate was continuously measured by the heart rate sensor during the review time. Even with heavy use, the smartwatch can last up to 10 days without any issue. It was easy and didn’t take too long to charge the device.

All in all, the battery performance of the Realme Watch 2 Pro is better than what one would expect from a budget-friendly smartwatch.

Realme Watch 2 Pro Display

The Realme Watch 2 Pro has a 1.75-inch rectangular display with a resolution of 320×285-pixels. It has an LCD screen, which is fine for a watch in this price range. Although, an AMOLED display and the colours it offers would have been preferable.

Even though the screen is sharp and bright enough, the device’s visibility in direct sunlight is not so good. In addition, the brightness levels on the watch can be adjusted to 20 per cent, 40 per cent, 60 per cent, 80 per cent, or 100 per cent.

You can pick from 100 cool watch faces to match your taste and OOTD. You also get the raise to wake feature which works as expected.

Realme Watch 2 Pro Display

No scratches were visible on the display even after I dropped the watch during my time with the device. The watch displays all messages in a large font size so that you can easily read them while out for a jog.

Realme Watch 2 Pro Fitness and Health Features

Realme has done its best to include all of the features one would expect from a budget fitness watch. The Realme Watch 2 Pro has 90 different sports modes, such as running, elliptical, yoga, cycling, cricket, badminton, and football, to name just a few of them.

Realme Watch 2 Pro Fitness features

The heart rate, SpO2, and sleep tracking features aren’t the only things you’ll be able to keep track of with this. GPS tracking is one of the Watch 2 Pro’s most prominent features, and it works admirably most of the time.

I noticed the heart rate sensor to be quite accurate. SpO2 monitor works fine as well, but its accuracy is questionable. The sleep tracking feature is also mostly accurate, tracking light sleep, deep sleep, REM sleep, and awake time.

You can also set a reminder for things like drinking water and being inactive for long periods of time. It is able to auto-detect an activity during a workout but is unable to end it. The Realme Link app can be used to track and collect workout data.

The Watch 2 Pro already has a lot of great features, hitting above its price point; however, the one thing that is lacking here is stress monitoring.

Realme Watch 2 Pro Software and UI

The Realme Watch 2 Pro’s interface is simple and free of unnecessary clutter. Coming to connectivity, it is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. It’s a bit of a dull experience to open apps because you don’t see any animation.

The Realme Watch 2 Pro also includes call alerts, message notifications, music controls, a camera shutter, and the ability to control some Realme AIoT devices. You can easily access all of the features of your Watch 2 Pro through Realme Link.

You can also use the Realme Link app to download unique watch faces and manage them on your smartwatch.

One thing I didn’t like about the smartwatch was its limited ability to respond to notifications from your smartphone. You don’t get a quick reply message to reply to texts or even phone calls. Also, this watch does not allow you to answer phone calls; instead, you just get the option to reject or silence the call.

Verdict

It’s hard to deny that the realme Watch 2 Pro is a great smartwatch for the asking price. It has a slew of features that put it on par with fitness watches costing twice as much. Aside from that, the watch has a good bright display and a long battery life.

While the step tracking accuracy isn’t the best, this watch makes up for it with other features like GPS, SpO2 and heart rate monitoring, and more. However, I’m a little disappointed that you cannot wear it while swimming.

But taking into account the cost, I’m not going to criticise Realme too much. Realme Watch 2 Pro is a great option at a price of under Rs. 5,000.
