Apple iPhone 8 Plus
iPhone 8 Plus Launch in India
Obviously, if you compare the iPhone 8 plus to the newer iPhone X and iPhone XS, it falls short in many regards. Hell, it wasn’t even the go-to flagship at its launch event, upstaged by the launch of the iPhone X along with it. As time passes, the 8 Plus is getting cheaper, and if you are looking to pick up an Apple handset for a bit less than what the iPhone X or iPhone XS retails for, then the 8 Plus is pretty much your best option.
With strong upgrades from the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, the 8 Plus certainly presents itself as value for the extra money that you shell out. A better battery, a far more vibrant screen, and an enhancement to what was already a terrific mobile camera have made the iPhone 8 plus a worthy upgrade.

About the Mobile Phone
iPhone 8 Plus Highlights
The iPhone 8 Plus is a bigger version of the iPhone 8, having a larger screen and battery, extra RAM, and a rear-facing secondary telephoto camera. It has the same A11 Bionic chipset as the iPhone X, which has been demonstrated to be incredibly powerful, particularly in tests that use all six cores simultaneously. True Tone, which changes the colour temperature to match the ambient illumination, is now supported by the display. The standard edition comes with 64GB of storage, but you can upgrade to 256GB for a higher price. This time around, your only colour options are Space Grey, Silver, and Gold. The iPhone 8 models also have redesigned glass backs that facilitate wireless charging while still preserving the IP67 water and dust-resistant classification. Fast wired charging is supported, however, only a basic charger is included in the package. Because of the huge battery, you can go through a full day of operation with minimal power left over.

iPhone 8 Plus Design
The iPhone 8 Plus is by no means a small phone. Compare it with the iPhone X, which is the same size as the 6 plus, yet has 5.7 inches of screen. That’s what losing the bezel gives you. The 8 Plus, however, has a bezel, and with the 5.5-inch screen, is quite a big device.
With a glass body packed into an aluminium frame, the 8 Plus still looks as good as you would expect an Apple device to look. The glass back is there to help support wireless charging, with colour options including gold, grey and silver.
iPhone 8 Plus Display
The true tone technology, borrowed from the iPad pro, really gives the display a cutting edge over older models. The 5.5 inch, full HD display may not turn heads on paper, but you need to dig deeper than just the on paper specs to appreciate the importance of the display.
Colour reproduction and temperature are noticeably better, with ambient lighting also being improved. Although the newer phones have better screens and contrast ratios, the display on the iPhone 8 Plus is by no means a slacker. It works well in all conditions, both indoors and outdoors, although the lack of mobile HDR can be a turn off for many.
iPhone 8 Plus Performance
The new Apple A11 Bionic chipset drives others to shame. According to Geekbench tests, it surpassed its competition by a country mile, even beating the industry standard at the time of testing, the Snapdragon 835. Users can expect double the usage speed in the 8 Plus as compared to the A10 chipset in the iPhone 8 and other models.
The extra GB of RAM when compared to the iPhone 8 also helps the cause. Storage options include 64 GB and 256 GB, with no expandable storage as expected. Stereo speakers have been upgraded to make the 8 Plus a delight to hear, and the iOS 11 which the phone comes with can now happily be upgraded to iOS 12.
iPhone 8 Plus Camera
Apple always seems to one-up itself when it comes to putting the best cameras on its phones. We thought that the Apple iPhone 7 Plus was amazing, well, wait till you see what the 8 Plus has to offer. Apple has evolved the camera in many aspects, making photography and videography an absolute joy.
The biggest feature, so to speak, is that Apple added an image signal processor right into the A11 bionic chipset. Texture reproduction, as a result, is much better on this phone as compared to older models. The performance of the phone, thus, is a touch above previous generations, in all lighting conditions. New iOS upgrades bring in powerful new options and editing effects, expect those to increase with every new iOS that you install.
iPhone 8 Plus Battery
The battery life on the iPhone 8 Plus will satisfy the majority of its users. Normal, day to day multitasking saw the phone easily last through a day, squeeze in a few photo sessions, moving around and playing games, and you would need a charge by the time you go to bed. The wireless charging support really helps here.
Fast charging is also supported, but in typical Apple fashion, they’ve made it so that you have to buy a cable and charger separately to take advantage of this feature. The processor on the phone is as efficient as older models, but they have a smaller screen to take care of. Adding the 5.5-inch display to the same equation yields only one result- battery lasting shorter than expected.
iPhone 8 Plus Review
Apple’s iPhone 8 Plus is still the best bet of the ‘cheaper’ iPhones. Cheaper, so to speak, as you would still need to shell out INR 49,900 for this phone, but it still presents your money’s worth if you are looking to upgrade. For those who do not want to shell out the exorbitant INR 80000-90000 for the new iPhones, this one is clearly the best option you have.
