  • If you’re deciding between theGoogle Pixel 11 Vs Google Pixel 10, you’re at the right place. The Pixel 11 looks like the better phone for a fresh purchase, but the Pixel 10 may be the smarter deal if its price drops sharply. The biggest reason to care about the Pixel 11 isn’t a radical redesign. It is the rumoured Tensor G6 chip and MediaTek M90 modem.

Google has officially put the Google Pixel 11 on its Store page and lists August 12 as the pre-order date. In this guide, we will check out the details of both the options and see which one is worth the money.

Biggest Difference Is Inside, Not Outside

The leaked dimensions put the two phones extremely close, and the 6.3-inch size is expected to bethe same.

The Google Pixel 10 already has a compact flagship shape. There is no reason to redesign a phone simply for the sake of redesigning it. The interesting change is expected to be the Tensor G6.

Reports point to a move from the Tensor G5’s 3nm process to a 2nm design for the G6. The Pixel 10’s G5 was already Google’s first major Tensor move to TSMC manufacturing, so the G6 could be another meaningful step in Google’s silicon strategy.

Don’t assume that a 2nm chip automatically means the Pixel 11 will destroy every other flagship in benchmark tests. That’s not really the point.

If Google gets that balance right, the Pixel 11 could feel noticeably better during long navigation sessions, video recording, gaming and heavy Gemini use.

Tensor G6 Could Finally Address Pixel’s Performance Criticism

This is where I am most interested in the Pixel 11. Google has focused heavily on AI processing, photography and its own software experience. Pixel 10 is already fast enough for messaging, social media, photography, streaming, browsing and most apps.

The problem appears when you push the phone for longer periods.

Gaming is the obvious example. A phone can feel fast for ten minutes and still struggle once heat builds up. Video recording can create another sustained workload. So can navigation, mobile data and AI processing happening at the same time.

The reported 2nm Tensor G6 is therefore more interesting as an efficiency upgrade than as a raw speed upgrade.

    The MediaTek M90 Modem

The Pixel 10 uses a Samsung modem. Multiple reports say Google is moving to MediaTek’s M90 modem for the Pixel 11.

    Why should you care?

Because the modem affects more than your download speed. It can influence cellular reliability, power consumption and heat when your phone is working hard to maintain a connection.

The Pixel 11’s M90 could therefore have a bigger effect on everyday battery life than a small increase in battery capacity.

Pixel 10 Still Has A Very Strong Camera Setup

Don’t make the mistake of assuming the Pixel 10 suddenly has a bad camera just because the Pixel 11 is newer.

    It doesn’t.

Google’s Pixel 10 has a 48MP main camera, 13MP ultrawide and 10.8MP 5x telephoto camera. It can reach up to 20x Super Res Zoom, and the camera system supports Macro Focus.

That’s a serious setup for a compact phone.

The rumored Pixel 11 main camera is expected to move to a 50MP sensor, alongside upgraded computational photography and AI-assisted video processing. Some reports also point to new low-light video capabilities and 4K Cinematic Blur.

But here’s my advice: don’t buy the Pixel 11 just because the main camera goes from 48MP to 50MP.

Megapixels alone don’t tell you how good a Pixel camera will be. Google’s image processing, sensor size, optics and software algorithms matter far more.

    What About Pixel Glow?

    What About Pixel Glow?

The Pixel 11 is also rumoured to introduce a notification light around the camera area, sometimes called Pixel Glow or HiLight.

A rear notification light could let you see certain alerts while the phone is face down. Reports also suggest it could interact visually with Google’s Gemini assistant.

    Personally, I like the idea.

It isn’t a reason by itself to replace a Pixel 10, but it could become genuinely useful if Google lets you customise colours, contacts and alert types properly. The important part is software support. A glowing light is pointless if it only works for a handful of notifications.

Google Pixel 11 Vs Google Pixel 10 Display

Both phones are centered around a 6.3-inch display.

The Pixel 10 already has a 1080 x 2424 OLED panel, 60-120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits peak brightness according to Google’s Indian specification page.

That is already excellent for everyday use.

The Pixel 11 is expected to use a newer Samsung M16 OLED panel, potentially improving brightness, efficiency and display quality.

For most people, this won’t be a night-and-day difference.

If you spend a lot of time outside, use your phone for navigation or care deeply about display quality, the newer panel could be worth having. Otherwise, the Pixel 10 screen is already good enough that I wouldn’t use the display alone as an upgrade reason.

Storage Has Practical Changes In Pixel 11

Reports point to Google removing the 128GB entry-level configuration and starting the Pixel 11 at 256GB.

There is one detail worth clearing up: the Pixel 10’s global specification includes both 128GB and 256GB versions, but Google’s current India Store configuration lists both storage choices too.

So don’t assume that every Pixel 10 sold in India is 128GB.

If you take lots of photos, record 4K video, download movies or keep large games installed, 256GB is the capacity I would choose anyway.

Battery Life Could Be The Real Pixel 11 Upgrade

Google rates the Pixel 10 for more than 24 hours of battery life, and its Indian specification lists a typical 4,970mAh battery. It supports wired charging via a 30W USB-C PPS charger and Qi2 wireless charging up to 15W.

Some reports point to a battery around 4,840mAh in Pixel 11. It would actually be slightly smaller than the Pixel 10’s typical capacity.

A smaller battery paired with a much more efficient chip and modem can potentially last longer than a larger battery attached to less efficient hardware.

Pixel 11 Gets Android 17, But Pixel 10 Isn’t Being Abandoned

Software is one of Google’s biggest strengths.

The Pixel 10 launched on Android 16 and receives seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. The Pixel 11 is expected to launch on Android 17, so it naturally starts one Android generation ahead.

It does not mean Pixel 10 owners suddenly have an outdated phone. Far from it. Google is still actively supporting the Pixel 10. The seven-year update promise makes it one of the safer Android purchases for long-term ownership.

If you’re already happy using a Pixel 10, software support alone isn’t a good reason to upgrade.

Pixel 11 Vs Pixel 10 For Gaming

The Pixel 11 should be more interesting than the Pixel 10 thanks to the Tensor G6’s rumoured efficiency improvements.

But Pixel phones aren’t the first devices I’d recommend to someone who mainly wants maximum gaming performance.

If you spend hours playing demanding 3D games every day, look at Snapdragon-based alternatives before buying either Pixel. If you play games casually, the Pixel 10 is already capable. The Pixel 11 could simply be a more comfortable long-session phone if its thermals improve as expected.

Google Pixel 11 Vs Google Pixel 10 For Photography

For photography, I would choose the Pixel 11 if the price gap is reasonable.

The Pixel 10 already has an unusually versatile camera system for a compact flagship, including a dedicated 5x telephoto.

The Pixel 11’s advantage should come from newer image processing, AI-assisted video and the rumored 50MP main sensor.

That could matter if you shoot a lot of video.

For someone who mostly takes family photos, food pictures, pets, travel shots and quick social-media images, the Pixel 10 is an excellent choice.

Which Phone Is For Long-Term Use?

This is where I would lean toward the Pixel 11.

Not because the Pixel 10 is weak. It isn’t.

The Pixel 11 should simply start its life one generation newer. You get the newer processor, newer modem, Android 17 and potentially more efficient hardware.

That matters if you plan to keep the phone for four, five or even six years. At the same time, Google’s seven-year update commitment means the Pixel 10 has plenty of life left.

So the decision comes down to price. If the Pixel 10 falls several thousand rupees below the Pixel 11, it becomes a very compelling value purchase.

If the two are close in price, I’d take the Pixel 11.

    Should Pixel 10 Owners upgrade?

For most Pixel 10 owners, no.

The Pixel 10 already has Tensor G5, 12GB RAM, a 120Hz display, 5x optical zoom, Qi2 charging and seven years of updates.

The Pixel 11’s biggest potential gains are efficiency, connectivity, AI processing and newer camera software.

If your Pixel 10 is working well, keep it for another year. You’ll get much more value from your money by waiting for a future generation or replacing the battery later in the phone’s life than by upgrading simply because the model number changed.

What If You’re upgrading From Pixel 8 Or Older?

If you’re coming from a Pixel 8 or an even older model, the Pixel 11 looks much more attractive.

You’re skipping several generations of processor development, display improvements, camera processing and AI software. You’ll also start your ownership period at the beginning of another long support cycle.

In that situation, I’d buy the Pixel 11 rather than saving a small amount on the Pixel 10.

    Final Thoughts

If you’re buying a new phone today and the Pixel 11 is only modestly more expensive than the Pixel 10, I’d buy the Pixel 11. The newer Tensor G6, rumoured MediaTek M90 modem, Android 17 and likely efficiency improvements make it the more sensible long-term purchase.

But if you get good discounts on Pixel 10, don’t dismiss it just because there’s a newer model sitting above it. The Pixel 11 is the better phone. The Pixel 10 could be the better deal. And if you’re upgrading from a Pixel 8 or older, I’d stop overthinking it and go for the Pixel 11.
