Released in May 2018, Moto G6 Plus is available at a starting price of Rs. 11, 818 as of July 2019. It is available in three colours of gold, deep indigo and nimbus. It is a phone with a good design and great features for a budget price range.
This Moto model has a 3D glass back with an aluminum frame and has dimensions of 6.30 x 2.97 x 0.31 inches. It weighs 167 grams and has a water repellent coating inside out, but there is no official IP rating of the same provided by the company. The fingerprint sensor protrudes a little bit on the back, but apart from that the phone has a good, stylish look.
G6 Plus has an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display of 5.9 inches with a full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 16 M colours. The display screen has an aspect ratio of 18:9 with a PPI density of 409 and a screen to body ratio of 74.4%. The screen is protected by a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The screen in big, the resolution is excellent with every image on the display being vivid, sharp and bright. The screen has a rather balanced brightness. Even under direct light or sunlight every content on the screen can be viewed with the same brightness. The display also has a Moto night mode. The display of the phone is notable.
Moto G6 Plus comes with a Qualcomm SDM630 Snapdragon 630 chipset and a processor of octa core 2.2 GHz Cortex A53 with a graphics unit of 700 MHz Adreno 508. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and is upgradeable to Android 9.0 Pie. This model has a 6 GB RAM with an internal storage of 64 GB which is expandable up to 256 GB through a micro SD card slot. The phone has an excellent configuration and is very responsive and handles heavy, intensive tasks really well. Even while playing big, heavy games, the phone does not lag. For its offering price, this phone’s performance is excellent.
This Moto model has a dual sensor camera of 12 MP with an aperture of f/1.7 and 5 MP with an aperture of f/2.2 with dual autofocus pixel technology. The 5 MP rear camera is equipped with a depth sensor for portrait mode. The rear camera is equipped with features such as object recognition, text scanner, portrait mode, spot colour, face filters, panorama and manual mode. The rear flash is a dual LED dual tone flash. It can record videos with up to 4k Ultra HD quality and can also capture time lapse and slow motion videos. The front camera is of 16 MP with an aperture of f/2.2. Even the front camera can capture slow motion videos and has a low light mode. It is equipped with features such as group selfie mode, beautification mode, manual mode, face filters and portrait mode. Moto G6 Plus has a very impressive camera with excellent image quality. The phone’s camera definitely makes it stand out among other smartphones in the same price category.
G6 Plus has a non-removable Li-ion 3200 mAh battery which can be charged with a USB type C wire. It supports fast charging and about 20 percent of the battery can be charged in 20 minutes. Even with heavy usage, the battery can last over a day and can even be used for half of a second day. It gives an excellent battery performance which should not worry heavy users at all.
In this budget, Moto G6 Plus is definitely one of the best phones you can lay your hands on. It has a great camera, gives an excellent battery life and will let you play games or watch Netflix comfortably on its big display screen with a good resolution. If you are looking to buy a phone with an excellent configuration and features within this price range, you should be looking at Moto G6 Plus.
