The global chip supply crunch is hitting Apple harder than previously indicated. Apple previously also weathered the supply crunch due to massive purchasing power and long-term supply agreements with chip vendors that can cause issues in the production of phones. But sooner than expected, most of the tech companies are facing shortages of the chipset. Plus, many companies like Google have also worked and moved to produce their own chipset.

Furthermore, earlier, there were reports that Apple had cut down the production of the iPhone 13. But as per the latest reports, production of the iPad was down half from Apple’s original plans for the past two months. The newspaper Nikkei also added on its website that parts designed for older iPhone devices were also being shifted to the iPhone 13.

The company has not yet confirmed the news of the iPad’s production halt. But as per the sources, the iPhone maker is currently prioritising iPhone 13 production. It is all because the brand has forecast more demand for the smartphone than for the Apple iPad as Western markets begin to emerge from the pandemic. iPhone 13’s sale is expected to be higher than last year’s iPhone 12 prices at Rs. 70,900.
