OpenAI has announced that ChatGPT with Voice feature is now available for free users. The functionality allows users to ask the chatbot questions with voice instead of text prompts.
This makes it more akin to a voice assistant than an AI chatbot. The feature debuted in September and was only available for paid users. The company has now made it accessible to everyone, including free users.
How To Use ChatGPT With Voice Feature
The voice feature is available in the mobile app for iOS and Android. Interested users must press the headphone button to talk to the chatbot and get an audio response.

In a post on X (Formerly Twitter), the company showcased the feature by asking the chatbot, “It’s been a long night for the team, and we’re hungry. How many 16-inch pizzas should I order for 778 people?”
778 refers to the number of employees currently working at OpenAI. The company is now facing a major crisis as most employees have threatened to resign unless a new board is appointed.
However, everything seems to be settled now as Sam Altman has returned as CEO along with Greg Brockman. There have been changes to the board as well, with the appointment of Bret Taylor, Larry Summers, and Adam’D Angelo.
