Nothing’s budget-focused sub-brand, CMF, has officially confirmed that the reports of the CMF Phone 3 being cancelled are true. The company will not launch a successor to the CMF Phone 2 Pro in 2026, ending months of speculation about the expected device. While the decision may disappoint fans, Nothing says it wants to focus on delivering better value instead of releasing a minor upgrade.
The announcement comes as the company also teases a new smartphone under its main Nothing brand, with a Flipkart microsite already going live in India.
CMF Phone 3 Cancelled Due To Rising Component Costs

Nothing Co founder Akis Evangelidis revealed that the company decided to stop development of the next CMF smartphone because of increasing memory prices and challenging market conditions.
According to the company, launching a new phone without meaningful upgrades would not match the CMF philosophy of offering strong value for money.
Evangelidis said the brand prefers to be transparent rather than launch a product that fails to meet customer expectations.

Even though the CMF Phone 3 has been cancelled, Nothing has hinted that new smartphones are on the way. A dedicated Flipkart microsite carrying the message “It’s (b)eginning” is now live, suggesting the arrival of a new device.
The teaser appears under the Mobiles category, indicating that the upcoming product is likely a smartphone. However, the official name and specifications have not been revealed yet.
Earlier, a Nothing device with model number A009P received BIS certification in India, confirming that a new Nothing branded smartphone is preparing for launch.
