Google has launched its new Pixel Watch 2 in India. It comes with a new suite of health tracking and faster performance than its predecessor. The watch will be available for purchase on Flipkart starting October 13.
Google Pixel Watch 2 Specifications
The Google Pixel Watch 2 looks similar to its predecessor and sports the same 1.2-inch curved circular AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a pixel density of 320 PPI.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 5100 or W5+ Gen 1 chipset powers the watch paired with 2GB of RAM. It runs on the latest Wear OS 4 and has 32GB of internal storage.

It has built-in speakers and microphones apart from a crown on the side that can be used to navigate through the user interface. The Pixel Watch 2 uses 100 per cent recycled aluminium instead of stainless steel, making it 10 per cent lighter than its predecessor.
Pixel Watch 2 Has New Sensors
Furthermore, it has three new sensors, including a new heart rate sensor for better tracking. It also has Fitbit’s Body Response feature that utilizes the new electrodermal activity sensor (cEDA).
This can detect whether you are under stress using machine learning algorithms apart from measuring heart and skin temperatures. There are also multiple sensors, such as a compass, altimeter, accelerometer, gyroscope, ambient light sensor, barometer and magnetometer.

The watch includes 40 sports modes to give you a better perspective, including a daily readiness score, sleep score and active zone minutes. In addition, there are also new heart rate zone coaching and pace training features that can help you focus on your workout goals.
New Personal Safety Features
The Pixel Watch 2 also has new personal safety features like Medical ID, Emergency Sharing and Safety Check. The Safety Check sets a timer during an activity and notifies your contact if you don’t reach your destination.

The feature will notify up to 15 emergency contacts and send them your current location on Google Maps if you don’t check in within the timer.
In addition, the watch can show your medical info to share with emergency responders, such as allergies, blood type and pre-existing medical conditions.

The watch has a 306mAh battery, lasting up to 24 hours with Always-On Display. However, it uses contact pins instead of wireless charging found on its predecessor.
For connectivity, it has Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and NFC. It is available in two variants: Wi-Fi and LTE. The watch weighs 31 grams and has an IP68 rating with 5ATM water resistance.
Google Pixel Watch 2 Price And Availability In India
The LTE variant of the Google Pixel Watch 2 has launched in India for Rs.39,900. Currently, only the LTE model is available in the country, and it will go on sale on Flipkart on October 13. Those buying the Google Pixel 8 series can purchase the Watch 2 for Rs.19,999.
