Just after launching iQOO 7 in April in India, the company is apparently prepping for its successor – iQOO 8. According to latest leaks, the new addition in the series is on its way to launch soon. Previous rumors have revealed that the phone could arrive on August 4 in China. However, now a per the latest leaks and a teaser video by a company executive, it shows the same date. Although, as of now, iQOO has not confirmed that it will be launching iQOO 8 next month.

iQOO President Feng Yufei shared a video on Weibo showing a pool table with a ball with the number eight hitting and sinking a ball with the number four. However, there is no confirmation in the post itself. It is believed that a new iQOO smartphone is coming on August 4. The eight ball could also be a reference to the iQOO 8.

In addition, a Weibo tipster WHYLAB has shared an image that confirms the iQOO 8 moniker and confirms the August 4 launch. The tipster reveals that the phone will launch at 2:30 PM China time. The image also reveals that the device will have flash charging support. Moreover, he also claims that it will be the first Snapdragon 888 Plus-powered phone.

The phone may also come with 256GB of storage and run OriginOS 1.0 based on Android 11.

    iqoo 8 supposed marketing prop

On the other hand, speculations are also rife that it could also debut 160W fast charging. This is thanks to an iQOO 8 marketing prop which did sport a new Flash Charge sign possibly hinting at the 160W solution. However, this is just pure speculation at this point and there’s no official word from iQOO yet so take this info with caution.
