Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is officially available in India. This latest entrant comes as an affordable 5G offering in the country to take on other brands. Moreover, it is also apparently a rebrand of Galaxy A42 5G that launched earlier this year. In addition, it comes with Knox security and has a waterdrop-style notch up front. The phone support NFC enabling contactless Samsung Pay as well.

Samsung Galaxy M42 5G starts at ₹21,999 for the base model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It also comes with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and this variant price is available at ₹23,999. Moreover, the company is offering the device at an introductory price of ₹19,999 and ₹21,999 on Samsung.com and Amazon India on May 1. The smartphone can also be purchased from select retail stores.

This phone runs on Android 11-based One UI 3.1. It features a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display.
Under the hood, Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G SoC. The phone packs up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In addition, the storage is expandable up to 1TB using a microSD card slot.
