iPhone 5c and iPad mini 4 to become outdated Apple devices. This will also mark the end of an era for Apple. This will officially end all kinds of support offered for the two devices. Even extended hardware repair support will not be given.

This move is a regular process by Apple. It signifies a particular device as ‘vintage’ when it surpasses the five years duration. This duration is marked from the day the device launched.

However, an ‘obsolete’ title is stated when a device has crossed seven years of age. The Apple iPhone 6 is recently termed as vintage by Apple.

Importance Of Now Outdated Apple Devices – iPhone 5c

The devices now marked ‘obsolete’ were the key devices then developed by Apple. The iPhone 5c stepped in September 2013. Now it is over nine years old.

But when it made its debut, it was the most affordable version of Apple’s flagship. The iPhone 5c was, back then, an attempt by Apple to offer a more budget-friendly product to reach out to more markets.

The company’s launch in that subsequent year saw the devices switch to larger displays. The iPhone 5c was at a small price tag, but for value-sensitive markets such as India, it got acknowledgement from Apple. This was for spreading its market outside of the US and European Union.

The iPad mini 4 have played a similar role by coming with a smaller display than most tablets. The display was 7.9 inches, even larger than most of the smartphones in the market.

Even Apple’s product list expanded in the tablet space. The tablet had a design for entertainment users and not for professionals. This tablet made its debut in September 2015.

Apple will no longer provide hardware support to either of the obsolete devices. Even any paid form of repair services are to be stopped.

Apple will soon launch a new fourth-generation iPhone SE between the out-of-date devices. It will come with a 6.1-inch LCD and a notch cutout on the screen. This latest claim is by the Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) analyst Ross Young. It will resemble the iPhone XR. The launch expects by 2023.
