Xiaomi could launch a smaller phone in its upcoming flagship series – the Xiaomi 12 Mini. Rumours of the Xiaomi 12 series launching soon have already surfaced a lot. Usually, we expect the unveiling of three phones in the series – Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. However, it looks like the company is also going the Apple route and launching a Mini variant for its smaller flagship variant. Since its first rumour, it surfaced on Geekbench recently.
But, now it looks like a new leak is hinting towards more information. A new leak has surfaced online that suggests a Xiaomi 12 mini could be at work. Tipster @Shadow_Leak took it to Twitter to share a possible render of the mini. The render reveals the rear design of the alleged mini. Let’s have a look:

Xiaomi 12 Mini Design (Leaked)
According to the render by tipster Sam (@Shadow_leak), Xiaomi could be working on a compact smartphone. The image shared shows the rear side of the smartphone with a vertically aligned triple camera setup. The image also contains the text “Xiaomi 12 mini”. Although it is worth noting that Xiaomi has not yet announced any plans for a compact Xiaomi 12 series smartphone.

Meanwhile, previous rumours suggest that it will have a 6.28-inch flat display for those who like compact phones. As per the poster from a Twitter user, Mayank Kumar, the Xiaomi12 Mini will launch in China on December 21, 2021. But it has not happened as of yet. In addition, leaks suggest it will have a 120Hz refresh rate support and 480Hz touch response. As per the leaked info, the display could be as bright as 1500nits and it might support HDR10+. The Xiaomi 12 Mini may be powered by Snapdragon 870 SoC along with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.

On the other hand, it may come with a quad-camera setup at the rear with a combination of a 100-megapixel primary camera with OIS, a 20-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 5X optical zoom lens and a 2x portrait lens. The Xiaomi 12 Mini might also pack a 4,700mAh battery with a 67W fast wired charger and 50W wireless charger. Whereas, additional features may include Bluetooth 5.2 support, Harman stereo dual speakers with Dolby Atmos, IP68 certification.
