Xiaomi Mi 11 Launched With World’s First Snapdragon 888

Xiaomi finally unveils its new flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 11. This comes after weeks of being part of rumor mills. Moreover, it is also the first smartphone to debut with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. It is also claiming to features the most advanced display by Xiaomi. The smartphone will come with an E4 light-emitting material on the display. In addition, this Mi-series phone features curved edges on all four sides and comes with a 2K resolution.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Price, Availability

It comes with a price tag of CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs. 45,000) for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Whereas, the 8GB RAM + 256GB storage model carries a price tag of CNY 4,299 (roughly Rs. 48,300). On the other hand, the top-of-the-line 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option is priced at CNY 4,699 (roughly Rs. 52,800).

It will be available for pre-orders in China starting 10 pm CST Asia tonight, with its sale for January 1. Moreover, Xiaomi Mi 11 will come in anti-glare (AG) frost glass finish in Horizon Blue, Frost White, and Midnight Gray, colors. Additionally, there will also be a vegan leather version in Lilac Purple and Honey Beige shades.

The standard version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 in China doesn’t come with an in-box charger. Whereas, its bundle version will include a separate 55W GaN charger. Both versions will notably be available at the same price.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Specifications

It features a 6.81-inch 2K WQHD (1,440×3,200 pixels) AMOLED display. In addition, it has up to 1500 nits of peak brightness, 5000000:1 contrast ratio, and 515ppi of pixel density. This dual-SIM (Nano) Mi 11 runs on Android 10 with MIUI 12.

Moreover, the display with a hole-punch design also includes up to 120Hz refresh rate that can go even down to 30Hz — depending on the usage. There is also a touch sampling rate of 480Hz.

Furthermore, the display of the Xiaomi Mi 11 offers a DCI-P3 color gamut as well as supports HDR10+ and Motion Estimation, Motion Compensation (MEMC). However, it was also featured on the OnePlus 8 Pro.

Xiaomi claims that the Mi 11 already achieved the A+ rating from screen analysis firm DisplayMate.

Under the hood, the Mi 11 has the octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

In terms of optics, the Xiaomi Mi 11 flaunts the triple rear camera setup that houses the 108-MP primary sensor with an f/1.85 lens and optical image stabilization (OIS). It also includes a 13-MP secondary sensor with an f/2.4 ultra-wide-angle lens that has a field-of-view (FoV) of 123 degrees. Additionally, there is a 5-MP tertiary sensor with an f/2.4 macro lens. Xiaomi has also developed a proprietary feature to capture low-light videos.

Moreover, it offers up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage on the Xiaomi Mi 11. Connectivity options on the smartphone include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/ A-GPS, NFC, Infrared (IR), and a USB Type-C port. Furthermore, it will also have an in-display fingerprint sensor that doubles as a heart rate monitor. It does not seem to be medically approved.

Xiaomi Mi 11 packs a 4,600mAh battery that supports Mi TurboCharge 55W wired and 50W wireless charging. There is also 10W wireless reverse charging support.
