Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6: What To Expect

Multiple leaks suggest that Qualcomm will ship the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 built on TSMC’s advanced 2nm process. A source called Digital Chat Station has shared information about the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. This new chip will have a unique setup for its processing units, organised in a 2+3+3 layout.

It will have a 16 MB shared memory L2 cache and will work with a graphics unit called Adreno 845. This graphics unit will also have a special design with six parts, along with 12 MB of graphics memory (GMEM) and 6 MB of system memory. It will support fast memory called LPDDR5X and storage called UFS 5.0.

Additionally, a leaked diagram suggests that Qualcomm might use technology called Heat Pass Block (HPB). This is a cooling method similar to what Samsung uses in its Exynos 2600 chip. In HPB, a special layer is placed on top of the chip to help move heat away quickly, keeping it cooler.
