Samsung introduced a series of phones on its Unpacked 2020 event and Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 is one of them. It has everything you’ll need in a flagship phone and uses a form factor that hasn’t found a mass audience yet aka foldable device with a state-of-the-art folding mechanism on-board. The device packs in two AMOLED displays with a dual-cell 4,500 mAh battery under the hood and it is powered by none other than the latest Snapdragon 865+ which makes it manifold better than its predecessor.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 Price in India
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 is a premium foldable flagship device and thus, it reflects into its price tag as well. Apparently, the Galaxy Z Fold2 5G is expected to carry a price tag of a whopping Rs 1,40,000 which is almost $1865 with conversion rate at the time of writing time. Samsung hasn’t put it up for pre-orders yet and thus, users can click on ‘Notify Me’ to register on Samsung India’s website if they are interested. It is available in Mystic Bronze, Mystic Black, and a limited edition Thom Browne that will be priced higher.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 has a stainless-steel frame and has been improved exponentially when compared to its predecessor. The front has almost tiny bezels and after you fold it, you’ll see a Note20 Ultra inspired triple camera setup located on the top-left corner of the back panel.
Samsung has its most advanced mechanism set up for the folding technology integrated on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2. It uses 60 components in its hideaway hinge system that disguises it with a plate with a Samsung branding etched on it. Under the plate, there are elastic fibres that clean out all the debris and dust particles that might have escaped into the hinges that were a massive problem with the first edition of the foldable phones. Samsung calls in a sweeper system thanks to its ability to get rid of irritants while keeping the hinges safe and steady.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 packs in two colossal displays that are now bigger than the one that rolled out on the first-generation Samsung Galaxy Fold devices. It now uses a larger 7.6” Dynamic AMOLED 2X as the primary display inside with a 120Hz refresh rate and it also packs in a front punch-hole camera. It has a 1,768×2,208-pixel resolution and when unfolded, it lets users watch movies or play anything on its vivid display. The bezels are extremely narrow when compared to its predecessor which is what makes it lucrative.
On the inside, there’s a smaller 6.2” Super AMOLED panel with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The display has an 816×2,260 pixels resolution making it the tallest screen at 25:9 aspect ratio. That’s pretty much all that the displays mounted on Galaxy Z Fold2 have in it for users.
Apparently, Samsung has included the latest overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ on all its recently launched devices and this phone isn’t different. The Galaxy Z Fold2 uses the SDM865+ along with storage configuration starting from 256GB to 512GB. The phone runs on the latest Android 10-based OneUI 2.1 and no doubt it will get upgraded to Android 11 soon. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 sports 5G which supports both mmWave and Sub-6 GHz setup that the phone arrives at; although in limited regions while others might get the 4G version.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 has a total of five cameras that includes a triple 12MP sensor; although the last sensor is also rumoured to include a 64MP telephoto setup that will make it 12MP+12MP+64MP. The front will house a dual 10MP sensor located on top of the primary sensor in a punch-hole cut-out and a second punch-hole sensor mounted on the secondary display.
Talking about the battery, Galaxy Z Fold2 has a similar dual-cell 4,500 mAh battery that should provide a battery backup spanning over hours of continuous usage. It is coupled with a 25W fast charging tech that allows the battery to charge the battery half of its capacity in just 30 minutes. There’s also an 11W wireless charging support with the phone that allows both wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
Samsung has done plenty of upgrades with the next-gen Samsung Galaxy Z Fold2 that brings the latest SoC on-board along with a Galaxy Note20 Ultra design when it comes to the back panel. There’s a powerful battery on-board that will keep it active for hours on a single hour even on continuous heavy usage. The only disappointing factor is its pricing as expected and mentioned above.
